Recalling the special feelings when remembering the days at school, remembering the moments when leaving his mother's hand and being warmly welcomed into class by his teacher, the Deputy Prime Minister said that "Instead of gratitude", a very meaningful program to honor the contributions of teachers across the country.
On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister, and with personal feelings, the Deputy Prime Minister would like to send his best wishes and sincere gratitude to the outstanding teachers andeducational administrators present at the program, and through television, to the teachers, officials and employees in the education sector across the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the tradition of studiousness, respect for teachers, and appreciation of talented people are profound humanistic values of each family, village, and the entire nation.
The merit of a teacher is second only to the grace of giving birth and raising parents. And as President Ho Chi Minh - the great teacher of the nation emphasized in his letter to the education sector: "The duty of teachers is very important and very glorious".
In today's open world, the identity and culture of a nation and a people define a nation. And education is where core values are established for each individual. The strength of a nation and a country does not only depend on available natural resources, but also on the knowledge built by the intelligence of each individual.
That can only be achieved when there is a developed education system with good teachers who are truly dedicated to their profession, always loving and exemplary with their students.
Impressed by the theme "I choose teaching", the starting point in a glorious but also arduous and difficult journey, the Deputy Prime Minister said that choosing teaching is not only a matter of courage and dedication, but above all, it is the boundless love of teachers for their students. If not, perhaps teachers would not be able to climb mountains, wade through streams, and cross forests to reach children in remote villages and remote schools, or overcome the hustle and bustle of daily life in urban areas to confidently stand on the podium.
However, the negative side of the market economy has caused the tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education to be somewhat eroded. Somewhere there have been distortions, losing the inherent solemnity and purity of the teacher-student relationship, the relationship between family and school, and between parents and teachers.
Therefore, the teaching profession and teachers need to receive more proper respect from the whole society. Not only flowery wishes and bouquets of flowers on November 20, but also the general awareness of the whole society for the teaching profession and teachers.
"That requires responsibility from each of us towards education and towards the team of educators," said the Deputy Prime Minister, adding that education is not a service, a type or a business product.

As a very special profession because the subject of a teacher's labor is the human personality, soul, intelligence and body, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that it is necessary to create the most favorable environment possible for teachers to feel secure in teaching.
The educational environment in schools and training facilities must be the best and most humane environment, where there is only faith, love and lessons in being human.
Teachers must be treated fairly. School conditions, facilities, and teaching and learning equipment must be prioritized and invested in more.
And there should be special priorities for teacher training colleges and teacher training students, who will then spread the image and noble example of teachers, impart knowledge, nurture aspirations, give wings to dreams, cultivate, mold, and pass on to the younger generation ideals, ethics, values of truth, goodness, beauty, the quintessence of national and human culture, contributing to the formation of good qualities of Vietnamese people.
"The Party and State have clearly defined the goals, tasks, and major orientations for education development, in which one of the key tasks is to build and develop the teaching staff," said the Deputy Prime Minister, adding that the Government, the Prime Minister, he personally, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the whole society are always struggling to find solutions through fundamental and sustainable mechanisms and policies so that teachers can wholeheartedly devote themselves to the glorious cause of education.
At the program, the delegates were very moved when the Deputy Prime Minister shared images of generations of students visiting their old teachers, tearfully looking at their teachers' gray hair, holding their wrinkled hands, dotted with age spots. In the teachers' eyes, there was still joy when they met again, heard, and felt the maturity of their former students.
"That is perhaps the most meaningful gratitude and honor for teachers. With the nation's tradition of respecting teachers, let us give our love, gratitude, wishes, smiles, and the most beautiful flowers to all teachers across the country," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
