Having a passion for technology and a desire to learn and understand more about how applications and games are created, when he heard that the school was launching a free basic programming (C&P) course organized by Samsung, Nguyen Truong Giang, a student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, and his friends were extremely excited to register to participate.
In class, besides being provided with the most basic knowledge about programming, Giang also has friends who share the same passion for technology as her, ready to exchange and support each other, while improving soft skills such as teamwork skills and presentation skills. The lessons therefore become more exciting, attractive and effective.
“This course is very helpful for me in terms of my future career orientation, because I have decided to choose information technology. If you have a passion for technology, do not hesitate to register because this course not only provides knowledge about programming but also helps you learn other necessary skills for life,” Giang said.
For Nguyen Phuong Mai, a student majoring in Literature at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho , besides researching and analyzing literary works, Mai also spends time learning programming. For Mai, this is one of the newest and most interesting experiences on her learning journey. Starting out as a student majoring in social sciences, Mai never thought she could program. However, when she directly participated in the basic programming class of the SIC course, her thinking changed. Mai shared that sitting and diligently typing each line of programming code has gradually become her passion.
“Thanks to the SIC course, I have been introduced to Python and have access to completely new knowledge. I believe that this is an opportunity to help us practice problem-solving skills and logical thinking to apply in life and future careers, thereby contributing to the development of the country,” Mai said.
After this course, Mai confidently registered to join the school's IT Club. For Mai, this was the most refreshing and rewarding experience on her school journey.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thai, a teacher at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho, is also very impressed with the effectiveness that SIC's basic programming classes bring to both her and her students.
“At first, I thought this was just a regular training course. However, after participating, I realized that programming is not just about solving dry math problems, but also a tool to solve practical problems. When students are exposed to programming languages, they have a part of the language of the times, which will be the basis for developing their future careers,” Ms. Thai excitedly said.
In particular, Ms. Hong Thai said that this course has breathed new life into the atmosphere of learning IT at the school. Now, not only students from the natural sciences but also students from the social sciences are actively participating and showing their love for programming. After the course, many students confidently registered to join the IT Club and try their hand at technology competitions, thanks to being equipped with a foundation of knowledge from basic to advanced.
It is known that with 84 scientifically designed lessons, the C&P course equips students with a solid foundation in Python programming, algorithmic thinking, and data analysis and processing skills. The course does not only focus on professional knowledge but also focuses on training soft skills such as logical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, communication and creativity to provide essential provisions for learners in the digital age.

This course is just one of many offered under the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program, Samsung’s global ICT education project for young people. The project nurtures young talent with problem-solving skills by providing them with the technological tools they need to thrive in the future.
SIC was officially launched globally in 2019. This is one of Samsung's core corporate social responsibility projects and has expanded to 36 countries worldwide such as the US, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand... In Vietnam, the project has also been implemented since 2019.
Since its launch, more than 12,000 students from 95 schools in 21 provinces and cities across the country have been trained and developed high-tech capabilities from Samsung Vietnam's Samsung Innovation Campus project.
“Samsung is carrying out many social responsibility activities to express gratitude for the affection and support of the Vietnamese people, especially the active support of the government. Samsung's social responsibility activities not only enhance Vietnam's basic competitiveness but also connect with training future leaders,” said Mr. Na Ki Hong - General Director of Samsung Vietnam./.
