May pensions will be paid from April 25 so people can celebrate the holidays with peace of mind

Implementing the Prime Minister's telegram and the direction of the Ministry of Finance , Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has just issued Official Dispatch No. 534/BHXH-TCKT to Vietnam Post Corporation, regional social security agencies, and provincial and centrally-run city social security agencies (provincial social security agencies) regarding the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for the payment period of May 2025.

Accordingly, Vietnam Social Security requires regional and provincial social security agencies to focus on paying pensions and social insurance benefits for the May 2025 payment period, ensuring full, timely, correct regulations, and correct beneficiaries, specifically as follows:

Regarding cash payments, regional and provincial social insurance agencies shall coordinate with post offices to review and develop payment schedules to ensure payment to pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries for May 2025 from April 25 to April 28, 2025. At the same time, arrange and organize working departments appropriately to make lists and transfer funds to post offices in a timely manner, and complete before April 24, 2025.

Regarding payment via personal accounts, regional and provincial social insurance agencies shall proactively establish, control and approve electronic payment orders, to be completed no later than April 24, 2025. Provincial social insurance agencies that have not yet operated under the regional model shall make payments on April 25, 2025; regional social insurance agencies shall make payments on April 26, 2025.

Regional and provincial social insurance agencies are also assigned to strengthen inspection and supervision of the payment process, coordinate, resolve and thoroughly handle arising situations, promptly report difficulties in the implementation process. Timely report the results of the organization of pension and social insurance allowance payment for May 2025 to Vietnam Social Insurance before April 29, 2025.

In addition, Vietnam Social Security also requested Vietnam Post Corporation to coordinate in fully preparing payment conditions and notify beneficiaries about the pension and allowance payment schedule for the May 2025 payment period.

Thus, the payment, including both cash and personal account beneficiaries of the May 2025 payment period, will be made earlier than the monthly schedule and completed before the April 30 and May 1 holidays in 2025. The early payment of social security policies creates conditions for beneficiaries to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day and stimulate consumption in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister .

Previously, in order to create conditions for people and workers to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), while implementing social security policies and stimulating consumption, the Prime Minister issued an Official Dispatch directing the Ministry of Finance and Vietnam Social Security to pay early pensions and allowances for May between April 25 and 28.

Vietnam Social Security said that currently, the entire Vietnam Social Security system pays monthly pensions and social insurance benefits to more than 3.3 million people (of which, the Social Security agency directly pays through personal accounts to 70% of beneficiaries nationwide).

Otherwise, beneficiaries can receive money in other flexible payment methods such as: cash at payment points or payment at home (for cases of old age, loneliness, illness, and infirmity that are unable to come to receive at the payment point).
