Reason for delaying gasoline price adjustment this week

According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development - Ministry of Industry and Trade, the gasoline price adjustment period this Thursday coincides with the International Labor Day holiday, so it will be postponed to May 5.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Industry and Trade of localities, key traders, and distributors about the time of gasoline price management in the next period.

According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, according to current regulations, gasoline price management is carried out every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it is implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of a holiday, the gasoline price management period is implemented on the preceding Wednesday.

If Thursday falls on one of the remaining holidays, the petrol price adjustment period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.

According to the holiday schedule, Thursday, May 1 is International Labor Day (the second day of the holiday), so the upcoming gasoline price adjustment will be carried out on May 5.

In the most recent adjustment period on April 24, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided to increase the retail price of RON 95 by 782 VND/liter to 19,638 VND/liter. The retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 740 VND/liter to 19,238 VND/liter.

Meanwhile, diesel prices increased by VND487/liter to VND17,524/liter. Kerosene retail prices increased by VND531/liter to VND17,715/liter. Fuel oil increased by VND564/kg to VND16,524/kg.

In this operating period, the management agency continues not to set aside the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund and does not use the fund for petroleum products.
