Lynk & Co 08 from 1.5 billion to Vietnam, "competing" with Hyundai SantaFe

With the price of Lynk & Co 08 2025 at around 1.5 billion VND, this model attracts attention when it puts itself in the same price range as Hyundai Palisade - a 7-seat SUV from Korea in a higher segment.

Meanwhile, in terms of size, the new Lynk & Co 08 2025 is closer to mid-range SUVs like the Hyundai SantaFe or Kia Sorento, with length x width x height of 4,820 x 1,915 x 1,685 (mm), respectively. The first highlight of the Lynk & Co 08 is its coupe-style SUV design - completely opposite to the new square style of the SantaFe.

The car has many rounded curves, the front of the car is designed to be almost closed like an electric car with a slim LED cluster running horizontally both front and back, creating a modern and seamless feeling. The cabin of the Lynk & Co 08 SUV only has 5 seats, which can be a minus point when placed next to 7-seat competitors in the same price range.

However, the interior impresses with a modern entertainment system with a 15.4-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch digital clock and a HUD screen up to 92 inches in size.

The car has almost no physical buttons, creating a minimalist, modern style. The highest-end version in China is also equipped with 23 Harman Kardon speakers. Lynk & Co 08 uses a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, with many different configurations in the Chinese market.

The most advanced version uses a 1.5L gasoline engine (161 horsepower) combined with two electric motors (215 and 209 horsepower), with a 39.6 kWh battery pack. Thanks to that, the car can operate entirely on electricity for a distance of about 220 km - a remarkable number in the segment.

The car is also equipped with ADAS level 2 advanced driving assistance system and 360-degree camera - features that are gradually becoming standard in the mid-high-end SUV segment. It is undeniable that Lynk & Co 08 possesses many strengths in design and technology, especially in the current electrification trend.

However, with a tentative price equal to E-class SUVs like the Hyundai Palisade but only having 5 seats, this Chinese car model will face many challenges when competing with Korean brands that are already familiar and have a foothold in the Vietnamese market.
