During the 30 minutes and 41 seconds (from 8:07 am to 8:37 am), former swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, who is known as the "Little Mermaid" in the Vietnamese swimming world, has won many high prizes domestically and internationally; holds many national records in swimming events, performed swimming towing a canoe MS QN-3068, 5m long, 1.8m wide, over a distance of 1.14km. At the same time, on the boat, athlete Do Kim Phuc, famous for his artistic ball juggling skills, continuously performed movements of juggling the ball with his feet, spinning the ball with his hands, head, shoulders... without letting the ball fall during the journey; creating a creative combination of physical strength and top-notch sports performance skills.
This is the first time in Vietnam that physical strength and artistic techniques have been combined on the water, requiring absolute precision, smooth coordination and perseverance. Just a moment of distraction, a strong wave, or an out-of-sync move can cause the ball to fall and the challenge to fail.
The entire process takes place in absolutely safe conditions, closely monitored by authorities, referees and sports experts.
Immediately after the performance ended, the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings) officially recognized and awarded the record certificates to the two athletes.
This performance not only shows perseverance together spirit overcoming challenges and the smooth coordination between the two athletes, but also contributing to promoting the image of Ha Long Bay - one of the natural wonders of the world to a large number of tourists. This is a creative activity, combining sports with tourism, contributing to enriching experiential tourism products in the heritage area and attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Quang Ninh.
This special record has been recognized and created a new mark in the series of activities to promote and stimulate tourism in Quang Ninh in 2025.
