Bringing good feelings between the two countries to Laos

Assessing the visit and work of the Central Youth Union's high-ranking delegation in Laos, VicePresident of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounthong Chitmany said that the delegation brought good feelings between the two countries to Laos.

On October 11, within the framework of the Vietnam - Laos Youth Friendship Meeting Program, in the capital Vientiane (Laos), a high-ranking delegation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, had a meeting with the leaders of the Lao Party and State.

Receiving the delegation were Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounthong Chitmany. Also attending was Monxay Laomuasong, alternate member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee.

"We are very interested in foreign exchange activities with Laos"

At the meeting, Mr. Bui Quang Huy informed that, implementing the cooperation agreement between the Central Youth Union of the two countries for the period of 2022 - 2027, the high-ranking delegation of the Central Youth Union and the Vietnamese Youth Delegation visited and worked in Laos and participated in the Vietnam - Laos Youth Friendship Meeting Program.

"We are fully aware that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two peoples today were built by revolutionary predecessors. Generations of young people have the responsibility to maintain and further develop it in the coming time.

Whether the relationship between the two countries is good or not in the future depends on the relationship between the youth at the present time. Therefore, in foreign exchange activities, we are very interested in foreign exchange activities with Laos, as a brother," said Mr. Huy.

Mr. Huy emphasized that this is a good opportunity to enhance exchanges and mutual understanding between the Youth Union and young people of Vietnam and Laos; contributing to educating the youth of the two countries about the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Mr. Huy informed about the cooperation between the Youth Union and youth organizations of the two countries in recent times, including focusing on and disseminating the tradition and history of good friendship between the two Parties, two States and two peoples.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy presented flowers to Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounthong Chitmany.

"On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, the Central Youth Unions of the two countries organized a contest to learn about the history of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, Laos and Vietnam with the theme "Vietnamese and Lao youths in deep friendship", attracting millions of Vietnamese youth to participate. That means millions of Vietnamese youth have learned about the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos", said Mr. Huy.

Mr. Huy also said that the Central Youth Unions of the two countries have promoted in-depth exchange and cooperation activities such as exchanges between young entrepreneurs, young doctors, youth work, etc.

Contribute to fostering special friendship

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Bounthong Chitmany said he was delighted to welcome the Vietnamese youth delegation to visit and work in Laos. "The delegation has brought the good feelings and solidarity between the two countries to Laos. This meeting and exchange program will contribute to fostering the special friendship between the two countries and the two youth organizations," said Vice President Bounthong Chitmany.

Vice President Bounthong Chitmany hopes that the Youth Unions of the two countries will continue to pay attention to educating the younger generation about the Vietnam-Laos relationship so that it can continue to be consolidated and developed in the future.

In particular, effectively coordinate the implementation of the contents of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the period of 2022 - 2027 to bring practical benefits to the youth of the two countries, bringing about the development of the youth of the two countries. The Youth Unions of the two countries continue to focus on and enhance youth exchange and cooperation activities in the localities bordering Vietnam - Laos.
