Bring love to disadvantaged children
Towards International Children's Day June 1, in recent weeks, all levels, sectors, associations, organizations, volunteer groups and philanthropists have visited and presented gifts to children in special circumstances, children in ethnic minority areas, in social assistance facilities, children with serious illnesses or undergoing medical treatment. The gifts are not large in material value but bring much joy to the children.
Children in special circumstances all have gifts.
On the afternoon of May 30, the working delegation of the Provincial Children's Support Fund (under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) visited 3 social assistance units that are nurturing and caring for children in special circumstances and children with disabilities: the Provincial Social Work and Social Protection Center, Dong Tam Social Protection Center, and SOS Children's Village Quy Nhon.
At the same time, at the Office of the Provincial Blind Association, 50 blind children and children of blind people in difficult circumstances in the province were present to receive June 1 gifts from the Provincial Children's Support Fund, the Tam Thien group (under the Quy Nhon City Red Cross Association) and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province. Among them, some blind, multiple-disabled and remote children were considered to receive all 3 gifts. Lam Nhu Quynh (born 2007, in Tay Binh commune, Tay Son district), whose father is also blind, is one of them. "The joy is tripled, ma'am", Quynh said, hugging the gift and smiling brightly.
Along with that, the Association for the Support of the Disabled and Protection of Children's Rights of the province also coordinated with the Hoa Huong Duong group of Quy Nhon city to give 140 June 1.5 gifts to orphans and disabled children of An Nhon town and Phu Cat district. "June 1.5 gifts are filled with the love of the benefactors for orphans and disabled children, conveying the belief that the children will always strive to overcome difficulties and losses to develop themselves and live a useful life," said Mr. Nguyen My Quang, Chairman of the Association.
On this occasion, in addition to gifts from the province and benefactors, localities also drew from the district's Children's Support Fund to give gifts to each child in special circumstances in the area. The poor district of An Lao has 130 children in special circumstances. Along with 100 gifts from the provincial Children's Support Fund, the district drew from the district's Children's Support Fund, adding 50 similar gifts. "All 130 children in special circumstances in the district received gifts, the remaining 20 gifts were given to 20 ethnic minority children from poor households according to the proposal from the grassroots level", Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of An Lao district Le Thi Thu Hang informed.

Bring love and joy to children
From mid-May 2023 to now, volunteer groups, philanthropists have spread to all villages, neighborhoods, and remote areas, visiting, encouraging, and giving gifts on June 1 to children with serious illnesses. In addition to candy, milk, and cash, many philanthropists have also donated books, pens, and even new summer clothes for children.
On the morning of May 27, Suoi Cat village school and K8 village school, Vinh Son Primary School (Vinh Thanh district) were filled with singing and dancing when the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with the Quy Nhon Golden Heart group to organize fun activities, singing and dancing, and give 122 gifts to the children.
Also on May 27, Tam Phat Association for Supporting Poor Patients in coordination with Quy Nhon City's Association for Promoting Education visited Phuoc My Secondary School, presenting June 1 gifts worth 15 million VND, including bicycles, school bags, notebooks, milk, cakes and cash. On the occasion of June 1 this year, Tam Phat also accompanied Quy Nhon City's Association for Promoting Education to Nhon Hoi commune, presenting 55 gifts to children in difficult circumstances. "Every year, Tam Phat usually goes to mountainous districts, but this year, it focuses on children in the suburbs of Quy Nhon. Many members were moved by the difficulties some children are facing, some even have to stay in the temple with their grandmothers because they do not have a stable place to live. Everyone reminds each other to remember this place so they can come back to the children," said Ms. Pham Thi Dao, President of Tam Phat Association.
On the afternoon of May 31, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Binh, Head of Thanh Binh Notary Office (Quy Nhon City) continued to support funds with the Provincial Association for the Support of Poor Patients to visit and give gifts on June 1 to sick children at the Provincial General Hospital. Since the beginning of 2023, she has sponsored 30 million VND to give gifts to ethnic minority children, remote areas and sick children. "Like many other philanthropists, I love children very much and am willing to do everything best for them, to see them smile innocently and pure," Ms. Binh confided.
Compared to previous years, on the occasion of International Children's Day 1.6 this year, associations, volunteer groups and philanthropists have had close and effective connections and coordination, thanks to which the resources to support children in difficult circumstances are also more numerous and of higher quality. Red Cross associations at all levels combine gift-giving activities with activities during the 2023 Humanitarian Month. The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs provides additional information to promote the 2023 Month of Action for Children.
