Opening of the 2nd Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival, 2025

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - In the joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the International Labor Day (May 1), on the evening of May 1, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City), Binh Dinh Province held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Culinary Culture Festival in 2025. The festival will take place from May 1 to 3.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Thi Dieu Hanh said that in the journey of developing sustainable tourism in the province, cuisine is an indispensable part, because the dishes not only captivate people, but also carry within them the cultural, historical and traditional stories of the land and people of Binh Dinh. Specialties such as Bau Da wine, Huyen market spring rolls, gai leaf cakes, shrimp ram rolls, Quy Nhon fish noodles, jumping shrimp pancakes... have become "cultural ambassadors" spreading the image of Binh Dinh to all regions.

According to comrade Do Thi Dieu Hanh, the unique highlight of this year's festival is the lively culinary performance space - where talented domestic and international artisans and chefs will directly demonstrate their skills in preparing traditional dishes, telling cultural and historical stories through each flavor, bringing authentic and vivid experiences to visitors.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Thi Dieu Hanh emphasized that the organization of the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival 2025 is not only a tourism stimulus activity according to the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Key Plan of the Provincial People's Committee, but also an opportunity for us to meet, share and connect. It is a place for culinary quintessence to interact, and also an opportunity to strongly promote the image of Binh Dinh - a friendly land, rich in identity and constantly striving to develop. I believe and hope that this Festival will leave many deep impressions in the hearts of every citizen and tourist - a place to connect souls who love culture, love cuisine, a bridge to bring Binh Dinh closer and closer to domestic and international friends. With all the respect and hospitality of Binh Dinh people, we hope that every step you take at today's festival will be filled with joy, and every taste will remain as unforgettable sweet memories.

Following the success of the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival in 2024, the 2nd Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival in 2025 was held on an expanded, rich and attractive scale. This festival attracted 55 registered booths, including: 34 culinary booths with the convergence of international cuisine (Thailand, Korea, Japan ...) to domestic regions (Gia Lai, Nghe An, Soc Trang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Ben Tre, Ho Chi Minh, Thanh Hoa), and especially 19 booths displaying Binh Dinh culinary culture; 16 OCOP booths from 67 units of 11 districts, towns and cities in the province; 04 booths displaying and promoting unique tourism, introducing prides such as Bau Da Wine, Binh Dinh rice paper and outstanding tourism products.

The organizing committee awarded certificates, recognizing the efforts and contributions of units and localities that accompanied the festival organization.

Before the opening ceremony, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City), the culinary promotion program within the framework of the 2nd Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival - 2025 officially took place with many special performances, attracting a large number of people and tourists to attend. The program had the participation of talented chefs and culinary artists from the Culinary Culture Association of Binh Dinh Province, Tuy Phuoc District, An Nhon, Chef Association of Binh Duong Province, Dak Lak, Thanh Hoa, Office of the Thai Tourism Department in Ho Chi Minh City...

Each performance lasts from 10-15 minutes, providing the opportunity to directly enjoy the process of preparing dishes right on stage. With the lively guidance of two MCs, the audience not only gets to “enjoy with their eyes” but also listen to interesting sharing from the chefs about how to choose ingredients, preserve dishes, as well as the secret to preserving the flavor and nutritional value of each dish.

The special dishes promoted on May 1st include: 7.7m long Tay Son rice paper rolls with 7 types of fillings - a unique highlight of Binh Dinh cuisine. Bau Da wine cocktail, Bau Da wine coffee - a fusion of tradition and creativity. Phuoc Son jumping shrimp pancakes, beef dipped in fish sauce, tuna dipped in hot pot - full of local flavors. International dishes such as salmon sashimi, mooping sticky rice, Tom Yum hot pot also create a colorful culinary space.

The promotion program will continue at 6:00 p.m. on May 2, with a series of other attractive dishes such as: Winter melon salad, hill chicken with coconut juice, jellyfish hotpot with broth, tuna noodle soup, chicken on tray, rice cake, spicy Thai rib tower, Pad Thai, grilled chicken with bamboo rice, grilled meat skewers.
