According to the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, it is expected that 1,873 AI cameras of Hanoi City Police will be operated from December 2025, contributing to improving the infrastructure to ensure traffic safety. The assessment of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police shows that the AI ​​camera system is deployed with many modern features, such as: 360-degree scanning, clearly identifying objects, phenomena, and subjects at a distance of 500-700m. Notably, AI cameras can operate in all weather conditions and harsh environments.

The AI ​​camera system will automatically process and analyze image data on traffic and security violations and send it to the monitoring center to read the data and compare it with the system's database. This will help increase the accuracy of detecting violations, reduce latency and reduce server system resources at the center, and easily expand the number of cameras.

In addition, the AI ​​camera system will also automatically measure traffic at intersections and send real-time information to automatically control traffic light cycles in real time, optimizing traffic flow at intersections, reducing congestion and red light waiting time for vehicles. The AI ​​camera system will also automatically detect traffic violations and behaviors related to security and order.

In Thanh Hoa province, the provincial police are installing 70 AI camera systems at 41 key locations in central wards of Thanh Hoa province.

Speaking with Cong Thuong Newspaper, a representative of the Traffic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police said: This is an AI camera system designed with the ability to automatically detect, record and analyze violations of road traffic laws, such as: Not obeying traffic lights, not wearing seat belts, using phones while driving, driving in the wrong lane, exceeding the prescribed speed... are all recorded accurately and objectively by the system. Violations will be accompanied by full information about time, location, vehicle type, license plate and images or videos proving the violation.

Also according to the Traffic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police, the special feature of the AI ​​camera system is the ability to identify multiple vehicles at the same time in the same frame. AI technology can automatically delineate, mark or draw the direction of each vehicle with a red frame to accurately identify violators, minimizing confusion or omissions. All data will be transmitted in real time to the Traffic Management Center of the Provincial Police for accurate and objective analysis and processing.

Evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of the AI ​​camera system, a representative of the Traffic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police said: The process of handling violations via AI cameras is tightly designed, ensuring transparency, publicity and high accuracy. From the time of detecting violations to the time of creating a handling record, everything is done entirely in a digital environment, helping to shorten the time and eliminate subjective factors.

Image data from AI cameras will be transmitted directly to the Traffic Management Center. Here, the AI ​​application software continues to analyze, recognize behaviors, extract related photos or clips and store them systematically. Based on the vehicle registration database, the AI ​​software automatically retrieves vehicle owner information. The electronic file is created with full information such as vehicle type, license plate, route, time, location, violation behavior, speed of movement and coordinates. All this data is packaged in a separate folder, with a specific identification code, making storage, lookup and verification easy and accurate.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police, in addition to the task of handling violations of traffic participants, the AI ​​camera system also helps the Traffic Police force detect traffic jams, accidents, fires or acts that cause disorder on the roads, thereby quickly deploying forces to the scene.
