In the early morning of September 6, the matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers took place with many notable matches. In Group D, the French team, despite having to play away from home, still showed their superior strength.

Rated higher, the French team rushed to attack right after the opening whistle. The constant pressure was materialized with the opening goal after only 10 minutes. From a well-coordinated situation, Michael Olise launched a dangerous low shot, hitting the ball into the far corner, leaving Ukraine's goalkeeper Trubin completely helpless.
The early goal not only helped France take the lead but also created a great psychological advantage, helping them continue to control the game and constantly threaten the opponent's goal.
On the other hand, despite their best efforts in attack, Ukraine still could not create any breakthroughs. The French defense played very solidly, making goalkeeper Mike Maignan almost not have to move too much.

In the second half, the French team continued to maintain an active and sharp attacking style. After missing a few opportunities, "Les Bleus" scored the second goal in the 82nd minute. From a smart pass, Kylian Mbappe ran down and finished neatly, doubling the gap. This goal was also the last goal of the match, helping the French team to a convincing 2-0 victory.

In another development, the Italian team showed their superior strength when hosting Estonia at home. Under the leadership of coach Gennaro Gattuso, the blue team had a resounding victory, showing complete dominance over their opponents.
Right after the opening whistle, Gattuso's team rushed to attack, putting tremendous pressure on the opponent's goal. Continuous opportunities were created from finishing shots by Federico Dimarco, Matteo Politano or Mateo Retegui. However, Estonia goalkeeper Karl Hein had an excellent day with a series of impressive saves, denying goals from the Italian players.

It wasn’t until the 58th minute that the deadlock was broken. Striker Moise Kean jumped high and headed the ball in, opening the scoring for the Azzurri. This goal not only relieved the pressure but also helped the Italian team play more explosively for the rest of the match.
During the remaining official match time, Italy scored 3 more goals against their opponents before Alessandro Bastoni sealed the 5-0 victory with a brave aerial battle in the 90+2 minute to end the match.
With three important points won, Italy continues to hope to chase the leading group in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, coach Gattuso's team still needs to maintain stable performance in the remaining journey, because the gap with the two teams above, Norway and Israel, has not been significantly narrowed.
