McLaren Artura Spider worth nearly 17 billion "silently" owned by a Saigon tycoon

In addition to the two Italian supercar brands Ferrari and Lamborghini, Vietnamese tycoons also favor the British car brand McLaren. It is estimated that there are over 50 McLaren supercars on the road in Vietnam, 3 of which are expensive masterpieces such as the Senna with 2 cars, and the McLaren Elva owned by Minh "Nhua".

But today's article will not be related to the 3 models listed above, instead it is a hybrid car called McLaren Artura. Specifically, this is a convertible McLaren Artura Spider supercar, this is the 3rd one to appear in Vietnam.

The two previous McLaren Artura Spider convertible supercars appeared in purple and black, while this car is orange with multi-spoke rims and many black exterior details.

The McLaren Artura Spider will have a roof opening or closing time of just under 11 seconds, similar to its senior McLaren 720S Spider. This roof can be easily opened while the car is running, but it should be noted that the speed of the McLaren Artura Spider must be under 50 km/h.

The McLaren Artura convertible supercar has a carbon chassis platform (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture) that allows the roof to be opened without losing structural rigidity, with a dry weight of only 1,457 kg, 61 kg heavier than the coupe, but enough to make it the lightest supercar in the segment.

Interestingly, the McLaren Artura Spider still uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, combined with an electric motor, producing 690 horsepower, an increase of 19 horsepower compared to the coupe version, and a maximum torque of 722 Nm. The car uses rear-wheel drive, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.4 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 21.6 seconds.

Maximum speed 330 km/h. McLaren Artura Spider uses an 8-speed SSG automatic transmission with adjustments that increase gear shifting by 25%, with the change that the electric motor will take on the role of reverse gear, which is not available on the coupe version.

With a 7.4 kWh battery pack, the car can run 35 km on electric power alone. The car has 4 driving modes including Comfort, Sport, Track and E (Electric) mode is the default starting mode. The price of the McLaren Artura Spider in Vietnam starts from 16.99 billion VND (excluding tax and registration fee).
