Mitsubishi dealers in the United States currently have 20,245 vehicles in inventory for sale, equivalent to nearly 100 days’ supply. These vehicles are not affected by the auto tariffs that go into effect on April 3, 2025.
However, customer incentives for the Outlander, the brand's best-selling model, will be cut in anticipation of an inevitable price increase later this year.

Buyers will reportedly only get $1,000 back on the SUV instead of $1,500. In addition, financing rates for qualified buyers have jumped from 2.99% to 4.99%. All Mitsubishi vehicles sold in the United States are made in Japan, making the company particularly vulnerable to Trump’s tariffs.
With this move, Mitsubishi joins Lotus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volkswagen and Audi in holding back vehicle shipments to dealers. In related news, Volvo has stopped selling the S90 in the United States because it is made and imported from China.
