Expanding cooperation connections between Vietnamese and Czech localities

A working delegation from 6 provinces of Bac Lieu , Vinh Long, Phu Yen, Hue, Quang Binh and Quang Ninh worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic.

During the visit and working session in the capital Prague from June 3-4, the delegation of leaders from 6 provinces of Vietnam had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic to strengthen cooperation with local localities.

At the meeting, leaders of 6 localities including Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Phu Yen , Hue, Quang Binh and Quang Ninh expressed their desire to expand cooperation with Czech localities in areas of mutual interest.

The delegation also requested the Embassy to continue supporting information connection, creating conditions for localities of the two countries to more effectively exploit the potential for bilateral cooperation.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, highly appreciated the significance of the working trip, saying that this was an opportunity for Vietnamese localities to better understand the potential and opportunities for cooperation with the Czech Republic, thereby building appropriate strategies and effectively implementing cooperation activities in the coming time.

The Ambassador emphasized that although the Czech Republic is not a country with a large population, with its central geographical location in Europe and its status as a member of the European Union (EU), this country plays an important role in connecting and distributing goods across the bloc.

Cooperation between Vietnamese and Czech localities, especially when meeting the standards and technical requirements of the EU market, will open up great opportunities for Vietnamese goods to not only penetrate the Czech market but also spread to Central European countries and the Baltic region.

This working trip demonstrates the efforts of Vietnamese localities in proactively seeking opportunities for international integration, promoting local economies and contributing to the overall development of Vietnam-Czech relations.

The Ambassador said that the Czech Republic has great potential for cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially in fields such as machinery and equipment manufacturing, science and technology, chemicals, chemical fertilizers and pharmaceuticals.

Believing that the Czech Republic's high-quality education with reasonable costs compared to the EU's average is an attractive strength, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy will continue to actively play the role of a bridge to help Vietnamese provinces and cities connect and cooperate effectively with Czech partners and localities. This will contribute to enhancing the cooperative relationship between the two countries, ensuring substance and effectiveness, commensurate with the stature of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

At the seminar "Connecting Vietnamese localities and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic" jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese Association, and the business community in the Czech Republic, leaders of Vietnamese provinces and cities emphasized their desire to promote investment cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese enterprises and partners in the Czech Republic as well as in Europe.

Provincial leaders also mentioned important content in bringing export products from Vietnamese localities to the Czech and EU markets, aiming to increase the presence of Vietnamese goods in international markets.

The seminar not only created networking opportunities but also contributed to raising awareness of the potential for economic cooperation between the two sides. For their part, the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic and Europe expressed their excitement at Vietnam’s economic and social achievements. They affirmed that overseas Vietnamese always look to their homeland, ready to promote investment opportunities and cooperation with localities.

Delegates said they are actively implementing many investment projects in Vietnam and continue to coordinate with provincial and municipal leaders to exploit cooperation potential. Areas such as agricultural and seafood exports, sea tourism, resort tourism and spiritual and cultural tourism are considered strengths that need to be further developed.

The delegation worked with Ms. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, Mayor of Karlovy Vary City and members of the Karlovy Vary Regional Council.

Previously, the delegation had a working session with Ms. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, Mayor of Karlovy Vary City, and members of the Karlovy Vary Regional Council to promote tourism, call for investment and boost bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, Ms. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová shared that the number of Vietnamese visitors to Karlovy Vary is currently only 7%, a rather modest number. She said that many Vietnamese delegations have visited and worked with the provincial leaders and hoped that the meeting would open up more opportunities for tourism cooperation between Karlovy Vary and other provinces of Vietnam.

Ms. Ferklová believes that increasing tourism exchanges will benefit both sides, promoting economic and cultural development.
