Although she is a famous cai luong artist, whenever she has free time, artist Le Thuy still goes into the kitchen to show off her cooking skills and cook delicious dishes to treat her loved ones.
Commemorative noodle dish of Le Thuy and Giang Chau, Thanh Sang
In her free time, artist Le Thuy cooked seafood noodle soup to treat her family and artists whom she considers her family members such as Quoc Thai, Tri Quang, Truong Bao Nhu...
Le Thuy revealed that she just randomly named the dish and didn't know its original name. She remembered that when the 2-84 Cai Luong Troupe went on tour, the late artist Giang Chau cooked this dish for her. Seeing how delicious it was, she asked Giang Chau: "Tell me how to cook this dish!"
Then artist Thanh Sang told her that this dish originated from fishermen in the Phuoc Hai sea area. He said that the reason for this dish is because when fishermen brought back their nets, they caught shrimp, fish, squid, clams, etc., and they put them in to cook into vermicelli.
Le Thuy shared that this dish is very easy to cook. Ingredients include fish, shrimp, and seafood depending on each person's preference.
First, she put the chicken breast in a pot of water to simmer to make soup. Next, she put another pot of chopped onion, garlic, lemongrass, and chili in to stir-fry with fish, shrimp, squid, etc. Season to taste. Especially, add the bean paste.

After the seafood has absorbed the spices, pour it all into the chicken soup pot, add tamarind for sourness, then add the water lily stalks cut into bite-sized pieces. If you don't have water lily stalks, you can substitute with mint.

Le Thuy: a good housewife
Enjoying a bowl of fragrant noodles from Le Thuy's mother, artist Quoc Thai said it was the first time he had eaten this dish.
He shared a dish that looked simple but was very unique. The vermicelli had a fragrant aroma like vermicelli with fish sauce but lighter. The soy sauce added when cooking the vermicelli created a difference, making the diner feel an unforgettable sweet and sour taste.
It was both strange and delicious, so Quoc Thai quickly "destroyed" the bowl of noodles.
It is known that when she went to the US and Australia to tour, Le Thuy also showed off her cooking skills for some overseas acquaintances to enjoy. Because it was so delicious, some people ate… 3 bowls at once!
The story of Le Thuy in the kitchen is not strange to those who know her. Although she is a famous cai luong actress, Le Thuy is always aware of her role as a mother and wife in the family.
Cooking is both a hobby and a way for her to bond with her family over the delicious dishes she meticulously prepares.
Not only does Le Thuy have many "favorite dishes", she also loves baking. When she was young, her family was poor and her mother had to make all kinds of cakes for Le Thuy to sell to earn money to take care of her younger siblings.
That tray of cakes from the poor countryside is always in Le Thuy's beautiful memories. Every time she craves cakes, she goes into the kitchen, remembers how her mother used to make them, and then makes them.
Now, she doesn't just make cakes alone. Every time she wants to eat a certain cake, Le Thuy organizes for her children, grandchildren, and acquaintances to gather and make it together for fun.
After a while, the young artists got used to it, whenever they craved a dish, they would send a message "Mom Le Thuy, cook for us", so whenever she had free time, the outstanding actress of that year would rush into the kitchen, enjoying the joy of cooking.
