Dong Nai organizes the OCOP product announcement ceremony and conference to connect typical agricultural consumption in 2025

(DN) - On the afternoon of October 26, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province organized the Announcement Ceremony of OCOP products phase 1 in 2025 and the Conference on Connecting the Consumption of Typical Agricultural Products, OCOP Products, and Investment Opportunities in Dong Nai.

Attending the announcement ceremony were Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang; Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Huu Nguyen; leaders of departments, branches, wards, communes, enterprises, cooperatives and farmers in the province.

In the past 10 months, Dong Nai province has evaluated 119 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from 79 entities. Of these, 19 products were re-evaluated and 8 OCOP products achieved 5 stars. Up to now, the whole province has 490 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from 323 entities. In particular, there are 6 more potential OCOP products with 5 national stars.

From now to 2030, the province's National Target Program for One Commune One Product sets the following goals: Developing and increasing the proportion of 4-5 star OCOP products to 40%; over 75% of products have stable raw material areas and are linked in value chains; 100% of OCOP products are electronically traceable; the proportion of OCOP entities participating in supermarket channels, convenience stores, and e-commerce accounts for over 70%; each locality has at least 1 center/point to introduce and sell OCOP products, associated with local tourism .

This is an opportunity to support businesses, cooperatives, and farmers to connect and consume typical agricultural products, OCOP products, and investment opportunities in Dong Nai. Thereby, OCOP entities and businesses of the province can directly access and seek opportunities to consume agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in retail distribution systems inside and outside the province. This is also a forum for businesses and investors to seek investment opportunities in the market of production and trading of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in Dong Nai.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Association, Department of Agriculture and Environment, and Provincial Cooperative Union signed cooperation agreements with businesses.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang affirmed: In the goal of developing sustainable agriculture, perfecting agricultural products through the OCOP program and connecting the consumption of typical agricultural products, investment opportunities are an important solution to support businesses and farmers to develop agricultural products in the province.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang highly appreciated the efforts and determination of OCOP subjects, with a creative spirit, strongly shifting to agricultural economic thinking. On that basis, the subjects continue to upgrade so that the products gradually dominate the market not only domestically but also reach out to the international level with the goal of "Dong Nai agricultural products take off".

The OCOP product announcement ceremony of the first phase in 2025 is part of the series of events "Dong Nai Province Agricultural Achievement Exhibition" to introduce and share information to customers, businesses and partners to continue promoting and expanding economic cooperation and exchange, promoting brands, products, trade transactions, honoring OCOP products, high-quality agricultural products and specialties of the province. This is also an opportunity for businesses and cooperatives to consolidate and exploit and expand the consumption market.
