One of the outstanding individuals is Mr. Pham Van Long, a Nung ethnic minority member of the Youth Union in Lang Chang village. Born and raised in this area, Mr. Long recognized the potential of cinnamon trees – a valuable specialty crop – nearly 10 years ago.
After careful surveying, he realized that the land in Lang Chang village was very suitable for growing cinnamon trees. Therefore, he boldly invested in planting over 2,000 seedlings, beginning his entrepreneurial journey.
To date, his family owns nearly 4 hectares of cinnamon trees, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in revenue each year.

Not stopping there, he also developed a model of raising chickens and pigs and digging ponds for fish farming based on the principle of "using short-term gains to support long-term growth." This integrated model not only brings economic benefits but is also highly valued by local people for its sustainability.
In Kho Vang village, another young person is also affirming the role of youth in local economic development. That is Ly Van Bang, a Dao ethnic minority.

Instead of leaving his hometown to work as a laborer like many of his peers, Mr. Bang chose to cultivate cinnamon trees with the determination to get rich on his own land. The lush green cinnamon hills, planted by his family more than 10 years ago, now yield two harvests a year. After deducting expenses, his family earns over 100 million VND.

Besides focusing on planting and caring for the trees, Mr. Bang also pays special attention to harvesting and preserving the product. After peeling, the cinnamon is quickly transported to the purchasing point to be dried or dehydrated, preventing mold and ensuring the quality of the final product.
Thanks to this, his family's cinnamon bark products are always highly valued by traders. He is developing a plan to collaborate with other young households in the village to form a cooperative for growing and processing cinnamon, aiming to build the "Coc Lau Cinnamon" brand.
The two models of Pham Van Long and Ly Van Bang are proof of the entrepreneurial spirit of young people in the highlands. Not only are they successful in business, but they also possess a community mindset, readily sharing and connecting.

Currently, Coc Lau commune has 426 Youth Union members, with the majority (387) coming from rural areas. The commune's Youth Union also has over 1,000 active members. This is a crucial force in implementing economic models in the locality.

With the support of the Youth Union and local Party committees and authorities, the youth of Coc Lau are gradually asserting their role as a pioneering force in rural economic development. Models such as cinnamon cultivation, livestock farming, and agricultural product processing not only open up new avenues but also contribute to building a prosperous, civilized, and sustainable Coc Lau commune.
