Liver cancer is a nightmare for many, but few know that maintaining a regular breakfast every day is a simple way to keep the liver healthy, support detoxification, and reduce the risk of cancer. After a night of continuous activity, the liver needs energy to continue its functions of filtering toxins, metabolizing nutrients, and creating proteins to nourish the body.

Don't underestimate thyroid cancer.
Why is cancer such a difficult disease to treat?
Fatty liver disease - A silent path leading to cancer.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nha, Deputy Head of the Oncology Department at Ca Mau General Hospital, said: "Skipping breakfast means not providing the liver with enough energy to function properly, causing toxins to accumulate in the liver. In the long term, this can lead to hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and even cirrhosis, all of which increase the risk of liver cancer."
Maintaining a regular breakfast routine helps keep the liver healthy, boosts immunity, and reduces the risk of liver cancer caused by overload after a long night of activity.
The World Health Organization considers breakfast the most important meal of the day, providing essential nutrients after a long period of overnight fasting. Regularly skipping breakfast not only causes fatigue, a bitter taste in the mouth, and reduced concentration, but also seriously affects the liver. When the liver lacks the energy to recover after a long night of detoxification, the body is forced to mobilize glucose from its reserves, overloading the liver and impairing its function. This metabolic disorder also causes blood sugar imbalance, increasing cravings for sweets and the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease—factors directly related to liver cancer.
To show support for underprivileged cancer patients, doctors from health stations in many communes and wards in Ca Mau regularly visit their homes to provide examinations, encouragement, and help patients feel secure during treatment.
Dr. Tran Van Tu, Deputy Head of the Department of Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control, Ca Mau Provincial Center for Disease Control, added: "Not having the habit of eating breakfast is not entirely a direct cause of liver cancer. However, it is one of the main factors contributing to impaired liver function, increasing the risk of liver diseases and some other chronic diseases, including liver cancer."
Doctors at Hoan My Minh Hai General Hospital examine a liver tumor in a patient with a history of stage 2 cirrhosis.
Therefore, a breakfast with all the necessary nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals will greatly benefit liver health. However, if possible, consumers should choose foods that are beneficial for the liver, prioritizing oats, whole grains, fresh fruits, yogurt, and eggs. At the same time, it's important to avoid fast food, processed foods sold on the street, and snacks high in oil, sugar, salt, and other saturated fats.
Clearly, maintaining an energizing breakfast not only helps keep the liver healthy and contributes to preventing liver cancer, but it also helps the body become healthier overall.
