The main cause of this rain, according to the Southern and Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station, is the low pressure trough passing through the South Central region, combined with the strengthening of the Southwest wind and disturbances in the upper East wind zone. These weather patterns are acting at the same time, and are forecast to continue causing widespread thunderstorms in the Southern and Central Highlands regions in the next few days.

The weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region will have continuous thunderstorms, risk of flooding and lightning.

Specifically, in Ho Chi Minh City, it will be cloudy all day, with thunderstorms developing continuously, so the possibility of rain occurring throughout the city is very high. People need to be extremely cautious of prolonged heavy rain causing flooding in low-lying areas; at the same time, extreme weather phenomena such as strong gusts of wind, tornadoes, lightning and hail may also appear with dangerous thunderstorms. The highest temperature of the day is forecast to range from 31-32 degrees Celsius and the lowest is 25-26 degrees Celsius.

Continuous heavy rains pose a serious risk of flooding for Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces. People need to take proactive measures to ensure safety.

Monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar and lightning positioning in Ho Chi Minh City shows that the thunderstorm area is developing strongly and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning over a wide area, affecting areas such as Can Gio, Binh Chanh, District 8, Binh Tan, District 7, District 6, Thu Duc City, Tan Phu, District 12, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi. Rain in many places in Ho Chi Minh City has lasted from last night until this morning, and has not stopped completely.

This morning, thunderstorms continue to develop and expand to other neighboring areas. Rainfall is generally between 20 - 30mm, with some places over 50mm. During thunderstorms, special precautions should be taken against tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5 - 7, along with the risk of heavy rain causing localized flooding.

Heavy rain is also affecting tourist destinations. Especially in the Da Lat area, residents and tourists need to be on guard against heavy rain combined with terrain factors that increase the risk of dangerous landslides.

The Southern and Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station also added that the storms and heavy rains this time are also caused by the stable eastward cold air in the North. The low pressure trough across the South continues to maintain in the south, while the subtropical high pressure across the Central region is also stable. All of these weather patterns are simultaneously creating disturbances causing rain.
