Happy Birthday Uncle Ho - Ha Giang completes the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services

BHG - On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), Ha Giang province has completed the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for all people who have contributed to the revolution. This is not only an outstanding achievement in social security work, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of "remembering the source of drinking water", clearly demonstrating the responsibility and deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Giang province.

Implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide launched by the Prime Minister, since the beginning of 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has identified this as a key political task to resolutely lead and direct. Under the close leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the drastic participation of the Program Steering Committee, specific action plans have been quickly deployed down to the villages and hamlets.

At the meeting on May 11, the Steering Committee set a goal: to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services before May 19 and for all other policy beneficiaries before October 31, 2025. According to a report from the Department of Construction - the standing agency of the Steering Committee, 80 houses for people with meritorious services have been completed and handed over on schedule, reaching 100% of the plan.

Not only are they beneficiaries, people also directly participate in the construction process, supervise and support each other. In many places, people contribute labor, materials, and join hands to build warm homes.

On the occasion of May 19, the new houses were completed and handed over solemnly by the localities. The households not only received the houses, but also received land use right certificates and essential supplies. These houses were not only structurally solid, but also filled with love and gratitude.

Mr. Mai Trung Lien, a 4/4 disabled veteran, residing in Na Han hamlet, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district, emotionally shared: “I never thought that when I was old, I would be able to live in a solid stilt house like this, a house built according to the cultural identity of our Tay ethnic group. Before, the dilapidated house was a constant worry every rainy and stormy season. Now, with a new house, my wife and I are no longer afraid every time the wind blows. I was even more moved when the Party Committee and the government showed their concern and support, and the neighbors contributed their efforts to help me complete the house. I was especially moved when the Provincial Party Secretary, leaders of Bac Me district and Yen Dinh commune came to inaugurate, presented a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, the national flag and necessary items so that my family could have supplies right when moving into the new house. I was very moved and grateful - something I will never forget in my life”.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh shared: Each house of a family with meritorious services to the revolution that has been newly built and renovated and put into use has demonstrated the spirit of mutual love, sharing difficulties with policy beneficiaries with difficult housing circumstances, contributing to the successful implementation of the movement "Repaying gratitude" in the locality. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution has deepened the "comradely love - compatriots' love", contributing to educating the revolutionary tradition of the homeland and the country, especially the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" for the younger generation. In the coming time, the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses will continue to resolutely direct localities to continue mobilizing all resources, focusing on leadership, direction and organization of implementation more resolutely, more synchronously and more effectively to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province according to the set goals and plans, contributing to people "Settling down and making a living".
