Emergency treatment for male patient shot in the chest in Tan Phu district

(DN) - On the morning of May 26, specialist doctor II Nguyen Tuong Quang, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat General Hospital, said that the hospital had received emergency treatment and was continuing to treat a male patient who was shot in the chest with a firearm.

Specifically, on the evening of May 25, the Emergency Department of Thong Nhat General Hospital received patient D.VP, 29 years old, residing in Tra Co commune, Tan Phu district.

The patient reported being shot in the body with a gun, resulting in a wound in the right chest, so he was taken to the emergency room. At the time of admission, the patient was conscious, responsive, had no chest pain, no difficulty breathing, regular heartbeat, soft abdomen, clear lungs, and stable vital signs.

The patient was then bandaged to stop the bleeding, given medication, and transferred to the Interventional Cardiology Department for further treatment. To date, the patient is continuing to be monitored and resuscitated post-operatively at the hospital.
