Strengthening measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic

BHG - In the face of new developments of the Covid-19 epidemic nationwide, the provincial Department of Health has urgently directed and requested medical units in the area to strengthen epidemic prevention and control measures, in order to proactively control and prevent the epidemic from breaking out again and causing surprise and passivity in response work.

The provincial Center for Disease Control reviews and inspects to ensure medicines and chemical supplies for Covid-19 prevention and control.

Accordingly, Covid-19 is an endemic disease, classified as a group B infectious disease like influenza. Since the beginning of the year, on the infectious disease surveillance management system of the Ministry of Health , the whole province has only recorded 3 cases of Covid-19 infection but they have been cured. However, with the spirit of not being subjective or negligent, the Department of Health requires the Provincial Center for Disease Control to be responsible for closely monitoring the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic and other dangerous infectious diseases, proactively monitoring, forecasting and promptly advising on flexible and effective epidemic prevention and control solutions. At the same time, closely coordinate with districts, cities and related units to analyze and assess risks in the province; conduct testing at outbreaks to identify virus variants and monitor the spread if an epidemic occurs. Along with that, check to ensure adequate supply of vaccines, drugs, biological products, and chemical supplies for epidemic prevention work.

Hospitals and private medical facilities prepare adequate facilities and isolation areas to ensure timely admission and treatment of cases; strengthen infection prevention measures in medical facilities to prevent outbreaks. In particular, focus on protecting high-risk groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and people with underlying diseases. Medical centers in districts and cities promote communication and propaganda activities to raise public awareness of epidemic prevention and control; coordinate witheducational institutions to review and mobilize students to receive all required vaccinations.

Agencies and units should instruct cadres, party members and people to actively implement the Ministry of Health's recommendations on epidemic prevention, wear masks in public places, limit crowded gatherings, wash hands regularly, exercise, eat a proper diet and seek medical attention immediately when having unusual symptoms. This will contribute to controlling the situation well and protecting people's health in the context of the epidemic still having many unpredictable risks.
