Speaking to reporters on March 18, Pentagon press secretary Sean Parnell said that "US military assistance to Ukraine, as well as intelligence sharing, has been restored."

Commander of the US Air Forces Central Command Alexus Grynkewich also confirmed that US military aid to Ukraine has been resumed.

"We have reports confirming that aid to Ukraine has been restored , intelligence sharing has resumed. Everything is going on as before," Mr. Grynkewich confirmed.

Earlier this month, Washington announced its decision to lift restrictions on aid, after Kiev said it would agree to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia.

The US has previously stopped providing billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine and restricted intelligence sharing following a White House row between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.

During the meeting, Mr Trump accused Mr Zelensky of being ungrateful and “betting on World War III” by refusing to seek peace with Russia. The Ukrainian leader was asked to leave the White House and return only when he was ready for serious negotiations.

The Pentagon’s announcement of the resumption of military aid came the same day President Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin spoke by phone to discuss efforts to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. The two-and-a-half-hour call was described as positive by both the White House and the Kremlin.

The two leaders confirmed a one-month pause in attacks on energy infrastructure and discussed President Trump’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. Russia raised several key issues that needed to be resolved before the proposal could be implemented.

Mr. Putin also stressed the need to establish a reliable monitoring mechanism for the ceasefire, stop forced mobilization and prevent rearmament in Ukraine.

The Russian president also stressed that an important condition to prevent further escalation of the conflict and resolve it diplomatically is to completely stop foreign military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

The Kremlin has repeatedly warned that US military aid to Ukraine will not change the situation on the front lines. Instead, US aid will only prolong the conflict and deepen the crisis.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the military support of the US and Western countries for Ukraine has pushed the world to the brink of direct conflict between nuclear powers.

The US has been one of the biggest military and financial aid providers to Ukraine since the conflict broke out with Russia in 2022.

The United States has provided a range of military equipment to Ukraine, including armored vehicles, ammunition, weapons, and artillery. At the same time, U.S. maintenance experts continue to provide remote support through secure communication channels.
