On the afternoon of October 15th, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Eric Hambly, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Murphy Oil Group.
General Secretary To Lam welcomed the visit to Vietnam of the leaders of Murphy Oil Corporation in the year marking the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US relations.
Appreciating the Group's long-term investment and business in Vietnam with positive results, General Secretary To Lam welcomed the Group's decision to expand and increase investment in oil and gas exploitation in Vietnam in the coming time.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam values its relationship with the United States and wishes for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two sides to continue developing, with energy cooperation being one of the key focuses of bilateral relations, for the benefit of businesses and people of both countries, and for peace , stability and development in the region and the world.
Sharing the vision and development strategy for Vietnam's energy sector to achieve development goals by 2030 and 2045, with requirements for ensuring robust energy security, efficient resource utilization, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation, General Secretary To Lam expressed optimism about Vietnam's development potential, including the oil and gas industry, in the coming years.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for investment and business activities of foreign enterprises in Vietnam in the energy sector, including those from the United States.
The General Secretary requested Murphy Oil Corporation to continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and partners to accelerate the implementation of oil and gas projects in Vietnam, transfer technology and knowledge, and enhance the training of high-quality human resources, thereby continuing to make positive contributions to Vietnam's development and Vietnam-US relations.
Eric Hambly, Chairman and CEO of Murphy Oil Group, expressed his honor at being received by General Secretary To Lam. He shared the Group's global business strategy, highlighting Vietnam as a continuing important partner.
The leaders of Murphy Oil sincerely thank the Vietnamese side for creating favorable conditions and for the close and effective coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Energy Industry Group in the Group's oil and gas exploration and exploitation activities in recent years.
