Domestic pepper prices rose across the board today.
Pepper prices this morning saw an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday in many provinces and cities. This adjustment helped the Dak Lak and Dak Nong regions reach the important milestone of 150,000 VND/kg. Specifically:
In Dak Lak province, the price of pepper today is being purchased at 150,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg.
The price in Dak Nong ( Lam Dong province) also reached 150,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai province, pepper price today is at 148,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) and Binh Phuoc (Dong Nai province), pepper prices today increased by 500 VND/kg, reaching 148,500 VND/kg.
In Dong Nai province alone, the price of pepper today remains at 148,000 VND/kg.

According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), global pepper production in 2025 is projected to reach approximately 520,000 tons, a slight decrease compared to 2024. The main reason is the unusual weather patterns in many key growing regions such as Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Brazil.
IPC estimates that production could recover slightly to around 533,000 tons in 2026, provided weather conditions are favorable and replanting programs are effectively implemented. However, this recovery is considered insufficient to create a large supply surplus in the market, suggesting that current and future pepper prices will likely remain supported by limited supply.
World pepper prices fluctuate slightly.
At the close of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed today's pepper prices with slight adjustments. Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) closed at US$6,981/ton, down 0.06%. Muntok white pepper decreased by 0.07%, to US$9,624/ton.
Other pepper varieties such as Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570, Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA, and Malaysian white pepper ASTA remained stable.
Vietnamese black pepper is trading at US$6,500/ton (500 g/l grade) and US$6,700/ton (550 g/l grade); white pepper is priced at US$9,250/ton.
Today's recovery in domestic pepper prices is occurring against the backdrop of a weakening US dollar following the Federal Reserve's interest rate cut. Early on December 11th, the US Dollar Index (DXY) fell 0.58% to 98.65 points. The weaker US dollar provides an opportunity for commodity markets, including pepper, to recover.
