Remote medical examination and treatment, and technology transfer to lower levels continue to be strengthened. 63 Departments of Health, 63 Social Insurance agencies, and 99.5% of medical examination and treatment facilities nationwide have been connected. In 2024, the health sector will continue to develop a health system that is “fair, high-quality, effective and sustainable”. Strengthening disease prevention, control and control; primary health care, preventive medicine, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels; continuing to improve institutions and policies, effectively resolving the shortage of human resources, medicines, supplies, equipment and medical biological products to effectively carry out health care for the people.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the achievements of the health sector in 2023; existing limitations and lessons learned, and the causes to have specific practical solutions for 2024 and the following years.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai directed: In 2024, the Ministry of Health will coordinate with central and local ministries, branches to continue to build and perfect institutions, draft laws, projects and documents in the Government's work program. * Tra Vinh province currently has 118 public medical examination and treatment facilities and 12 private medical facilities, reaching 9.6 doctors/10,000 people and 28.45 hospital beds/10,000 people; 100% of medical stations have doctors working. The medical examination and treatment network from the provincial level to the grassroots level has been expanded and consolidated; infrastructure has been invested, and medical services are diversified.
In 2023, the facilities examined more than 1,647,334 patients, reaching 128.7%; treated 143,219 inpatients; treated 19,143 outpatients. Infectious diseases were detected, promptly contained and prevented, no major epidemics occurred. Food safety inspection, examination and supervision were focused on and effectively implemented.
In 2024, Tra Vinh health sector is assigned to implement 09 health indicators to serve the socio-economic development of the province. At the same time, continue to build and perfect the provincial health system in the period of 2021 - 2025 in the direction of fairness, efficiency, development and suitability with natural and socio-economic conditions to meet the increasing and diverse needs of the people, ensuring that people enjoy quality health services, improve physical strength, increase life expectancy, and population quality, contributing to improving human resources to serve the requirements of the industrialization and modernization process of the province.
