On the afternoon of August 5, the Super Cup Organizing Committee, including Tien Phong newspaper and VPF Company, held a press conference to inform about the match.

The National Super Cup is an annual match that starts the season, taking place between the V-League champion (Nam Dinh Club) and the National Cup champion ( Hanoi Police). The first Super Cup was held in 1999, at the initiative of Tien Phong newspaper, in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), later VPF Company and has been included in the official competition system of Vietnamese football.
The National Super Cup match between Nam Dinh and Hanoi Police is expected to be extremely exciting.
Nam Dinh FC showed their strength and courage when successfully defending the V-League championship, finishing with 57 points, 8 points more than the rest of the tournament. At the same time, the team led by coach Vu Hong Viet was also the team that scored the most goals (51 goals) and conceded the fewest (18).
In the 2024-2025 National Cup, Hanoi Police Club was crowned champion after an impressive journey. Coach Mano Polking and his team continuously achieved resounding victories, defeating Hong Linh Ha Tinh 2-1 in the round of 16, defeating Hai Phong 3-1 in the quarter-finals, then overcoming The Cong Viettel in the semi-finals with the same result.
In the final match at Vinh Stadium, the police team won a resounding 5-0 victory over Song Lam Nghe An to win the National Cup for the first time.
The Super Cup match is expected to feature a series of Vietnamese football stars that the two teams possess, such as: Quang Hai, Nguyen Filip, Van Thanh (Hanoi Police), Van Toan, Hong Duy (Nam Dinh Club).
According to the rules, the two teams will play for 90 minutes, if the score is tied, there will be a penalty shootout to determine the winner of the Super Cup without extra time. The Super Cup winner will receive 300 million VND, the losing team will receive 200 million VND. The prize for the player who scores the first goal is 10 million VND and the best player of the match will receive 10 million VND.
Responding to Tuoi Tre Online 's question about the ticket distribution plan for the Super Cup, a representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province said that the organizers sell tickets very cheaply: 20,000 VND, 40,000 VND, 60,000 VND, 80,000 VND/ticket. Tickets are sold online 2 days before the match takes place.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Ngoc - General Director of VPF Company - said that VAR will be applied in the Super Cup match. The team of referees with the highest expertise in Vietnam will be assigned to officiate the match. The special feature of the 2024-2025 Super Cup - THACO Cup is that there will be a FIFA representative attending the match.

The two teams are ready.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nam Dinh FC head coach - Mr. Vu Hong Viet said that Nam Dinh FC had two training sessions before the season, including one in Korea and achieved good results. All Nam Dinh players are ready. Striker Xuan Son is currently in Brazil recovering in his home country. He is unlikely to return in the first leg of the V-League, hopefully this player can play in the second leg.
Nam Dinh has added many foreign players for the 2025-2026 season to participate in domestic and international tournaments. Striker Van Toan said that having many foreign players makes the competition bigger and that is a good thing. Van Toan affirmed that with this squad of players, Nam Dinh aims to win all the titles in the tournaments they participate in.
Meanwhile, Coach Polking (Hanoi Police) hopes that after the referee blows the final whistle, his team will be the one to win the Super Cup.
However, immediately, coach Vu Hong Viet said that nothing can be said until the ball rolls and Nam Dinh set the goal of keeping the cup at Thien Truong.

Through 25 Super Cups, Hanoi FC is the most successful team with 5 titles. Next are Song Lam Nghe An FC and Becamex Binh Duong FC with 4 titles.
Hanoi FC alone won the treble twice in 2019 and 2022 after capturing all three titles of the national championship, the national cup and the national super cup. They also won three consecutive times together with Song Lam Nghe An FC.
Up to now, 13 teams have been honored with this noble title: The Cong, Song Lam Nghe An, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Mitsustar Hai Phong, Gach Dong Tam Long An, Becamex Binh Duong, Lam Son Thanh Hoa (Dong A Thanh Hoa), Hanoi T&T (Hanoi Club), SHB Da Nang, The Vissai Ninh Binh, Than Quang Ninh, Quang Nam and Thep Xanh Nam Dinh.
