Male student in Binh Duong had his hand crushed because of playing with firecrackers

(Dan Tri) - A group of secondary school students in An Thanh ward, Thuan An city ( Binh Duong ) bought firecrackers and burned them on the canal bank. Unfortunately, a 9th grade student had his hand crushed.

On December 28, An Thanh Ward Police, Thuan An City, investigated and verified the case of a student whose hand was crushed due to playing with firecrackers.

According to initial information, at around 10am on December 27, a group of students were playing on the bank of a canal near Trang Bridge, An Thanh Ward. A short while later, people heard a loud explosion, a male student was injured, and was taken by a friend on an electric bike to a nearby clinic for emergency treatment, then transferred to a higher-level hospital.

At the scene, there was part of a finger with a backpack and books. There were many firecrackers in the backpack. The injured person was NAK (15 years old, 9th grade student, Trinh Hoai Duc Secondary School, Thuan An City).

K.'s family said that the male student suffered a serious injury to his hand and is being treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic Hospital, with a risk of having to amputate a hand.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital said that patient NAK was admitted to the hospital at 3:36 p.m. on December 27, with injuries to both hands. The right hand was crushed, had many foreign objects, and had to be surgically removed and amputated. The left hand had 3 injured fingers, and was bandaged, had the bleeding stopped, and had the wound stitched. The patient said it was due to playing with firecrackers that exploded.

Trinh Hoai Duc Secondary School informed that on December 27, after the first semester exam, student NAK and a group of friends went home to play and bought a mixture to make fireworks at K's house.

After making the firecrackers, the group took them to the canal near their house to test them. Unfortunately, they exploded, crushing K.'s hand. The school is working with authorities to clarify the incident.

By the afternoon of December 28, An Thanh Ward Police had received the information and arrived at the scene, seized related objects, and investigated the case.
