Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Tran Van Tien, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, said that in recent times, the City branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has always received the attention and direction of the General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, the Party Committee, the Government at all levels, especially the direct and effective direction of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies at all levels, the close coordination of the Departments, Boards, branches and socio -political organizations entrusted with the efforts and determination of the staff and employees of the entire branch in implementing the assigned tasks.
In particular, the emulation and reward work has always been focused on by the branch's Board of Directors, with leadership and direction; coordination between expertise and organizations in the unit; officers and employees actively responded and participated, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic emulation atmosphere, working together to overcome difficulties and strive to complete assigned tasks well.
“It can be affirmed that in the period of 2020-2025, social policy credit capital has reached all neighborhoods, hamlets, residential groups, and people's groups throughout the city, accompanying the poor and policy beneficiaries, contributing to the development of production industries, shifting the structure of crops and livestock, creating jobs for workers, and improving the lives of poor households, helping them to assert their position in society,” Mr. Tran Van Tien emphasized.
Data reported by the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies shows that over 346,400 poor households and other policy beneficiaries have received loans, helping over 78,000 households overcome the poverty line; creating jobs, maintaining and expanding employment for over 275,700 workers; over 14,450 students in difficult circumstances have received loans for their studies; building and renovating over 97,800 clean water and environmental sanitation works in 5 suburban districts of the City; helping 197 businesses borrow capital to restore production and business and pay salaries to over 67,200 workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; Help 183 non-publicpreschools and primary schools affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to borrow capital to repair facilities, purchase medical equipment and supplies to prevent the epidemic, and purchase nurturing, care and education equipment to restore and maintain operations; support 84 people who have completed their prison sentences to borrow capital to do business and reintegrate into the community, etc.
Social policy credit activities have made an important contribution to promoting socio-economic development in line with the State's orientation; successfully implementing the goals of the local sustainable poverty reduction program, building new rural areas, ensuring social security; developing human resources, minimizing the impacts of climate change and epidemics; mobilizing forces, developing membership of socio-political organizations; contributing to reducing the rate of poor households according to the City's criteria in the period of 2021 - 2025 from 1.49% to 0.21%, near-poor households from 0.80% to 0.57% (by the end of 2024).

Up to now, the SBV Governor has awarded Certificates of Merit to 04 collectives and 06 individuals; awarded Emulation Flags to the branch collective in 2020 and 2023; awarded the title of Industry Emulation Fighter to 01 individual; awarded the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Vietnam Banking" to 29 individuals; the SBV has awarded the title of Excellent Labor Collective to 26 collectives, the title of Grassroots Emulation Fighter to 91 individuals and Certificates of Merit to 29 collectives and 363 individuals, and awarded the NHCSXH Honor to 15 individuals; Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has awarded Certificates of Merit to the Branch collective in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, etc.
Summarizing the emulation and reward work in recent years, Mr. Tran Van Tien, Branch Director, affirmed that the Party Committee and the Branch's Board of Directors have always paid attention to directing and leading the emulation and reward work at the branch; promptly deploying and disseminating emulation and reward documents of the VBSP, launching emulation movements associated with the implementation of political tasks and professional work of the branch, creating conditions, motivating and encouraging units and individuals to actively and enthusiastically respond to emulation.
“The emulation movements go into depth, have clear, specific, practical criteria and content with many innovations and creativity, creating positive effects in the implementation of political and professional tasks. The content and forms of emulation are rich, diverse, constantly improved, effective, creating a vibrant and widespread emulation atmosphere and motivation throughout the entire branch. Proactively and promptly reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, completing tasks well, having outstanding achievements in professional work, in studying, and in sports movements.
