Improving credit quality for women to develop the economy

In Binh Dai district, the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) in coordination with the Provincial CSAT Project, the Provincial Women's Economic Development Support Fund and the Binh Dai District People's Committee recently organized a workshop on improving the quality of credit managed by the VWU during the period of merging commune-level administrative units.

In Binh Dai district, the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) in coordination with the Provincial CSAT Project, the Provincial Women's Economic Development Support Fund and the People's Committee of Binh Dai district recently organized a workshop on improving the quality of credit managed by the VWU during the period of merging commune-level administrative units in conjunction with disseminating credit support policies for beneficiary groups in the communes of the CSAT Project in 2025. Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dai district Vo Van Quan chaired the workshop.

At the workshop, delegates shared experiences and proposed solutions to improve credit quality after the reorganization of commune-level administrative units, and discussed and reflected on difficulties in accessing loan sources, loan procedures, loan disbursement at banks and the management of commune-level capital sources, especially in the context of reorganization of administrative units at all levels. The workshop also disseminated credit policies and preferential financial support for members and women who want to participate in economic development and stabilize their lives in communes of the CSAT Project.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Vo Van Quan emphasized: The credit capital managed by the Women's Union has contributed greatly to the implementation of sustainable poverty reduction goals in the locality. Currently, the poverty rate of the district has decreased to 2.31%, thousands of female workers have stable jobs and children of members and women in difficult circumstances have been able to borrow money to study. Thereby, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa said that the workshop was an opportunity for the Women's Union at all levels to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of its members and women about the situation of people's access to capital and credit quality in the area, thereby assessing the actual quality of credit managed by the union at all levels in order to propose solutions, strengthen the capacity to manage and monitor capital sources and supplement and adjust policies to suit people's borrowing needs in the new situation.
