Hot weather all over the country

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this is the first time in 2023 that heat waves have occurred nationwide. This is also the first widespread heat wave in the Northeast and the capital Hanoi .

Specifically, since May 4, in the Northwest and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, there has been heat and severe heat, some places are especially severe with the highest temperature of 36-39 degrees, some places over 40 degrees. Especially in the areas of Muong La, Yen Chau, Phu Yen (Son La), many places exceeded 40 degrees, or Hoa Binh 40.5 degrees, Quy Chau (Nghe An) 40.8 degrees, Tuong Duong (Nghe An) 41.7 degrees, ...

Today (May 5), the temperatures in the above areas continue to rise, reaching the highest level in this heat wave. In the Northeast, Central Highlands and the South, the temperatures are lower, at 35-37 degrees, some places above 37 degrees.

Notably, the Northeast region on May 6 will have hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature of 36-38 degrees, some places over 38 degrees; the lowest humidity of 40-55%.

The hot weather in the above areas mainly occurs strongly between 11am and 5pm; especially in the Northwest and Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen on May 5-6, when the temperature in many places exceeds 40 degrees, this period lasts from 10am to 6pm.

Meteorological experts say the hot weather, especially in some places in the Northwest, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, is likely to last until May 7. The hot weather in the Northeast, Central Highlands and the South will gradually decrease from May 7.

Northwest

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees, some places below 24 degrees. Highest temperature: 34-37 degrees, some places above 37 degrees.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 35-38 degrees, some places over 39 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, sunny during the day; hot and very hot in the north; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Light wind. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees, North 35-37, some places over 37 degrees.

Central Highlands

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees, some places above 35 degrees.

Southern Vietnam

Cloudy, hot during the day, sometimes very hot; showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Light wind. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 34-37 degrees, some places in the East are above 37 degrees.

Hanoi

Cloudy, hot during the day, some places very hot; no rain at night. Southeast to south wind level 2-3.

Lowest temperature: 26-28 degrees. Highest temperature: 35-37 degrees.
