Established in 2006, Bac Lieu University currently has more than 200 staff, civil servants and employees. The school has 5 training faculties including: Faculty of Economics and Law; Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture; Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Pedagogy; and 2 Centers: Information Technology and Foreign Languages; Center for Information System Management and Library.

The school is currently training and enrolling 12 majors, with a training scale of nearly 3,000 students. Of which, full-time students are nearly 2,500. In particular, the school has met the quality accreditation standards at the educational institution level according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .

Representatives of Bac Lieu University reported on the school's activities in the past and orientation for future activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai suggested that Bac Lieu University should have a plan to attract highly qualified human resources (professors, associate professors, doctors) to improve training quality. At the same time, improve the level of scientific research associated with practice to achieve efficiency and contribute to growth for the province. In addition, it is necessary to build a brand for the school, attract effective enrollment , and increase the application of digital technology to serve training and research.

“Bac Lieu University needs to soon build more facilities in the southern region of Ca Mau to facilitate students in this area to participate in enrollment. In addition, the school also needs to closely and long-term cooperate with large and prestigious universities to diversify training programs, improve the quality and brand of the school” - the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai spoke at the meeting.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai also noted that Bac Lieu University must create trust through the quality of its training and help students find jobs after graduation, which should also be the main goal of the school. The Provincial People's Committee will create the necessary conditions for the school to have suitable locations to build facilities in areas within the province, to better serve training and enrollment work.
