According to the Organizing Committee, the final round of the Traditional Horse Racing Tournament on the White Plateau of Bac Ha will take place on the morning of June 7, with fierce competition between 32 horses and talented riders. These are the horses and riders who went through the qualifying round that took place nearly a month ago.
The new feature of this year's horse racing is that there are more good horses and good riders from many localities in Lao Cai province and outside the province participating.
The qualifying round had 98 jockeys from Bac Ha, Bat Xat, Si Ma Cai districts (Lao Cai province), Ham Yen district (Tuyen Quang province) and Son La province. At the end of the qualifying round at a distance of 1,900 meters, 32 jockeys with the shortest competition time, without any violations, continued to compete in the final round on June 7.
Of which, the communes and towns of Bac Ha district have 12 horse jockeys; the rest are Bat Xat district 7; Simacai district 4; Ham Yen district ( Tuyen Quang ) 6; Son La province 3.
Bac Ha district has prepared the best conditions for the 18th Horse Race. The route from National Highway 70 to Bac Ha town has been repaired and the road surface has been improved.

Bac Ha district has mobilized police forces from communes to gather in the town to organize traffic flow and guidance. On the day of the horse race, passenger cars and tourist vehicles will be arranged to park at the town's static parking lot and the area by Na Co lake.
Inter-sectoral working groups have increased inspections and required food and beverage establishments to ensure food safety and hygiene. At the same time, prices have been publicly posted at food and beverage service establishments, ensuring prices are consistent with the current market.
The entire Bac Ha town currently has 130 accommodation establishments, including nearly 100 homestays, which can accommodate about 3,200 people. Currently, hotels and motels in the central area, the "core" area of Bac Ha town are basically fully booked.
According to Mr. Bui Van Vinh, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Bac Ha district: Tourists coming to Bac Ha close to the horse racing day can book accommodation at motels on the outskirts of the center or homestays in the surrounding area, with full facilities for individuals, families or large groups. Bac Ha ensures enough rooms for tourists to come here to watch the horse racing and experience and enjoy the specialty Tam Hoa plums in full season.
