The good news is that TikTok has a built-in feature that helps you cut down your video browsing time inside the app to just 1 hour per day.
It's important to note that this feature is enabled by default for people aged 13 to 17 in some areas, and if it's not enabled where you live or you're outside that age range, it can still be enabled manually following the steps below.
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu button at the top.
3. Tap Settings and privacy.
4. Tap Screen time then tap Daily screen time.
5. Here you can set or edit your daily usage time.
TikTok notifications are constantly being pushed to your phone, day or night. And skipping sleep to scroll through videos can be bad for your health.
To prevent notifications from waking you up at night, here's how to set it up:
1. Follow steps 1 through 4 as in manually turning on Daily screen time.
2. In the Screen time menu, tap Sleep reminders.
3. Set a bedtime reminder for yourself.
4. When you're scrolling through TikTok and it's time to go to bed, the app will send you a notification to consider taking a break.
You can tap OK to pause notifications until the next bedtime reminder, tap Delay to be notified again in 10 minutes, or tap Edit reminder to adjust or turn off notifications altogether.
