Russia destroys Ukraine's Buk-M1 system with just one strike

On April 11, AVP published a clip of a Russian drone completely destroying Ukraine's Buk-M1 air defense system. This air defense missile system is supposed to protect Ukrainian military positions from missile and bomb attacks. However, now it has become a victim of a drone. The Lancet drone launched two missiles and completely destroyed the Buk-M1 air defense system.

Although the destroyed Buk-M1 system was quite old, experts assessed that it was still a heavy loss for the Ukrainian army. This is because Ukraine does not have many air defense systems.

Previously, on April 9, a clip made public by SF newspaper showed that the Russian Aerospace Forces also carried out a precise attack on a bridge used by Kiev forces in the special military operations area in Ukraine.

The bridge over the Sudost River in the Chernihiv region was severely damaged. The attack was allegedly carried out by a Su-34 aircraft using a Kh-29 optically guided air-to-surface missile.

The Kh-29 was developed in the 1970s by Vympel NPO. Today, this tactical missile has been upgraded and is often used in precision strikes. Upgraded versions have an effective range of up to 30km and a maximum launch altitude of 10,000m.

Kh-29 missiles are typically equipped with high-explosive armor-piercing warheads. They are designed to attack large battlefield targets and hardened infrastructure such as buildings, warehouses, shelters and bridges.

This type of missile can be used on all fighter bombers currently in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. However, this is an air-to-ground weapon usually equipped on the Su-34.
