Four national treasures are displayed and preserved at the Vietnam Military History Museum (MTHM), including: MiG-21 aircraft number 4324; MiG-21 aircraft number 5121, the Ho Chi Minh Campaign Determination map; T-54B tank number 843.
The Mig 21 aircraft, serial number 4324, of the 921st Air Force Regiment (Red Star Air Force) - a symbol of victory of the heroic Vietnam Air Force, is prominently displayed in the main hall of the museum. The artifact has special value, contributing to the victory over the first destructive war in North Vietnam by the US air force and navy (1965 - 1968).

According to the artifacts of the Vietnam People's Army, the Mig 21 fighter plane, model F94, has 1 seat, equipped with a P11-300 engine. In 1967 alone, 9 pilots took turns flying this plane, shooting down 14 modern American planes. Those achievements contributed to forcing the US to accept to sit at the negotiating table at the Paris conference to resolve the war issue in Vietnam.

In particular, this is the fighter plane with the most stars printed on it of the Vietnam People's Air Force with 14 red stars, corresponding to 14 enemy planes shot down.

T-54B tank number 843 was a vehicle participating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign with nearly 10 pages of archived records. The combat vehicle was part of the 4th Company, 1st Battalion, 203rd Tank Brigade, 2nd Corps commanded by Captain Bui Quang Than, leading the deep penetration formation. On the way to the Independence Palace, tank number 843 burned 2 enemy armored vehicles M41 and M113.

At 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, Lieutenant Bui Quang Than rushed from tank 843 to plant the Liberation Army flag flying on the roof of the Independence Palace, marking the end of the Saigon puppet regime. Today, the traces of participating in the battlefield are still preserved intact on this treasure.

This tank model has a combat weight of 30 tons with a crew of 4. The maximum firing range with the sight is about 600 - 900 m. The turret has a 12.7 mm gun. Despite many battles and training, the T-54B tank number 843 is one of the few artifacts that can still operate.

The Mig 21 F96 aircraft with serial number 5121 is one of the aircraft manufactured by the Soviet Union and provided to Vietnam. This is the aircraft piloted by the Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, marking the first time the Vietnamese Air Force shot down a "flying fortress" B-52 on December 27, 1972. To this day, the fighter aircraft with serial number 5121 is still the only one in the world to shoot down a B-52 with an air-to-air missile.

According to the artifacts, this is a single-pilot fighter plane, painted silver, with a weapon weight of 1,500 - 1,700 kg.

The front of the plane is painted with five red stars, representing the five American planes shot down during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the air in 1972.

The Ho Chi Minh Campaign Determination Map is 185.5 cm long, 170 cm wide, and has 12 panels. This map was kept by General Van Tien Dung from 1975 to 1990, then presented to the Military Command of Vietnam on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the country's reunification day.

The signature of General Van Tien Dung, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Campaign Commander and Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, Campaign Political Commissar Pham Hung on the map, last approved on April 22, 1975. The map is a testament to the heroic days of the nation, marking the event when the Campaign Command completed the combat plan, preparing for the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, the largest-scale decisive battle of our army during the 20 years of resistance against the US, directly hitting the most important brain of the Saigon puppet government and army, ending in complete victory.
