Proposal to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the anti-American period on 1 lieutenant colonel and 1 lieutenant

The Ministry of National Defense is seeking opinions from organizations and individuals on the proposal to consider awarding the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Dung and Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Tho.

Accordingly, implementing the provisions of Clause 2, Article 44 of Decree No. 152/2025/ND-CP dated June 14, 2025 of the Government regulating decentralization and delegation of powers in the field of emulation and commendation; detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, the Ministry of National Defense publicly posted the list of 4 collectives and 2 individuals who have been proposed by agencies and units to be considered for conferring the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (LLVTND), Hero of Labor to collect opinions from organizations and individuals.

4 collectives and 2 individuals were proposed to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to save the country, the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the renovation period, and the title of Hero of Labor during the renovation period.

Specifically, it is proposed to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to save the country on Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Dung, former Political Commissar of Regiment 1, Division 9, Army Corps 4 (80 years old, from Phong My commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province; now Luong Hoa commune, Vinh Long province).

Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Tho, former Captain of Company 25, Regiment 88, Division 9, Corps 4 (78 years old, hometown Tu Dan commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province; now Chau Ninh commune, Hung Yen province).

Proposing to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period on the General Department of Logistics and Engineering; Department of Military Medicine (General Department of Logistics and Engineering); Department 16 (General Department II); proposing to confer the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period on Viettel Cambodia Company (Viettel International Investment Joint Stock Corporation, Military Industry and Telecommunications Group).
