Morning habits that silently damage the kidneys

Kidney disease often develops silently, and seemingly harmless habits can cause kidney function to decline over time.

Accordingly, small actions in the first few hours of the day can have a big impact on the two organs responsible for filtering blood and balancing water in the body. Mr. Venkatsubramaniam, a urologist in India, shared morning habits that are silently damaging the kidneys.

Even if it doesn't show up right away, repeated actions every day can overwork your kidneys, leading to many long-term health consequences.

Do not drink water after waking up. After a long night, the body is in a state of mild dehydration because the kidneys are still working continuously to filter waste.

If your first cup of the day is coffee or tea, the caffeine will dehydrate your body further, making your kidneys work harder.

Research published in the journal Obesity Facts shows that water helps prevent kidney stones by diluting minerals that can crystallize.

Holding urine after waking up. Many people have the habit of eating breakfast or exercising before going to the toilet, but holding urine puts a lot of pressure on the bladder and kidneys.

Research published in the Korean Journal of Family Medicine found that middle-aged women who held their urine had higher blood pressure than normal.

Holding urine for a long time also weakens the bladder muscles, creating conditions for bacteria to grow and increasing the risk of urinary tract infections, which can spread to the kidneys. In addition, this habit also makes the body susceptible to forming kidney stones. The next content of this article will be on the health page on November 5 .

How many minutes of walking at a time is best?

More and more people are walking every day to improve their health and prevent diseases. However, how walking is really good for cardiovascular health and longevity is still a controversial question.

Now, new research published in the medical journal Annals of Internal Medicine provides an answer to that question.

Walking for at least 10 to 15 minutes at a time significantly lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease (such as heart attack or stroke).

Scientists at the University of Sydney (Australia) analyzed data of more than 33,000 people aged 40 - 79 from the UK Biobank database. The participants did not have cardiovascular disease or cancer.

These people wore activity trackers to record the number of steps and walking time each day.

The results found that people who walked at least 10-15 minutes at a time had a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease (such as heart attack or stroke), compared to people who walked the same number of steps each day but divided into several sessions, each time for less than 5 minutes. Why can strokes happen even to healthy people?

Many people think that strokes only happen to the elderly or people with underlying diseases, but in fact even young people can have strokes.

According to Mr. Satwant Sachdeva, a neurologist at Manipal Hospital (India), there are many hidden factors in the body that silently increase the risk of stroke without showing any outward signs.

Dr. Satwant Sachdeva said a stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, causing the brain to not receive enough oxygen and nutrients it needs.

Chronic stress and lack of sleep are major factors that affect vascular health.

Among the identified causes, high blood pressure and diabetes are the two leading factors. However, there are still many other factors such as prolonged stress, dehydration, genetics or unreasonable living habits.

These factors can cause the body to gradually weaken without leaving obvious warning signs.

Chronic stress and lack of sleep are major factors that affect vascular health.

When people are constantly in a state of anxiety, the body will increase the secretion of the hormone cortisol. Prolonged high cortisol levels can damage blood vessel walls, increase blood pressure and eventually lead to stroke.

Sleep plays an important role in regulating the activity of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Lack of sleep does not give the body time to recover, increases inflammation and disrupts blood pressure regulation.

People who regularly sleep less than 6 hours a night have a higher risk of heart disease and stroke than those who get enough sleep. Start your day with health news to see more of this article!
