This event has contributed to marking the field of interventional cardiology in Vietnam on the world medical map.
TCT 2025 - Forum bringing together breakthrough advances in interventional cardiology
Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) is a prestigious annual conference, considered the "peak stage" of interventional cardiology, gathering more than 10,000 international experts, physicians and scientists . Here, advanced technologies, techniques and treatment methods will be introduced, shared and updated through in-depth reporting and discussion sessions.
This year's conference , which took place from October 25 to 28 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco (USA), provided a panoramic view of the remarkable advances in coronary intervention, heart valve replacement and repair, along with many groundbreaking clinical studies that promise to reshape global cardiovascular intervention practice in the near future.
In addition, TCT 2025 also sends a strong message about equality in access to healthcare , so that every patient has the opportunity to benefit from modern cardiovascular achievements.

TCT 2025 is the world's largest and most prestigious cardiovascular forum.
Vietnam's mark at international forum: Report on rare and complex cardiovascular disease cases
Within the framework of the conference, Master, Doctor Nguyen Van Hai - Head of the Department of Cardiology - Interventional Cardiology, Hong Ngoc General Hospital - Phuc Truong Minh presented a report on the case of a 70-year-old male patient with a history of three-vessel coronary artery disease, who had undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery many years ago. Recently, the patient was admitted to the hospital with an acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction - a top cardiovascular emergency.

Dr. Nguyen Van Hai was honored to report at the 2025 TCT Conference.
The results of angiography at Hong Ngoc General Hospital showed that the autologous saphenous vein bypass ( a surgical procedure to create a blood flow path by directly connecting arteries and veins in the arm or wrist) was completely blocked from the beginning, with a large blood clot burden. This is one of the most dangerous and rare situations in current cardiovascular intervention practice.
Faced with that challenge, the team of doctors under the leadership of Master, Doctor Nguyen Van Hai chose a bold but precise intervention strategy: Thrombosis aspiration - balloon dilation - using anti-restenosis drug-coated balloons instead of stent placement, helping to completely restore blood flow while avoiding dangerous complications such as no reperfusion, thrombosis or restenosis in the stent.

The results brought about a spectacular recovery for the patient, affirming the professional capacity and mettle of Vietnamese doctors in handling the most complex cases.
The report by MSc. Dr. Nguyen Van Hai attracted the attention and heated discussion from leading experts at the TCT 2025 Conference. Many international delegates assessed this as one of the rare cases, handled excellently and creatively, demonstrating modern intervention thinking, in-depth skills and proud clinical courage of the medical team.
The success of the report is the result of a serious work process, continuous research and the desire to access the latest medical advances. This is also a valuable opportunity for the Vietnamese medical team to exchange and learn experiences from leading experts, thereby flexibly applying them to clinical practice in the country.
In the coming time, the advanced treatment techniques and trends introduced at TCT 2025 are expected to be soon updated and applied in Vietnam, contributing to improving the quality of treatment and cardiovascular health care for patients.
