Famous for its surreal cloud-covered moments, Ba Den Mountain ( Tay Ninh ) deserves to be a paradise that you must visit at least once in your life.
These days, rare cloud phenomena such as lenticular clouds, milky way, sea of clouds... are still continuously appearing at Ba Den mountain, the mountain known as the "roof of the South" with an altitude of 986m.
Cloud hats appear on top of Ba Den Mountain
Lasting from May to November every year, the continuous rains are also the "favorable conditions" for clouds to frequently appear on the mountain top. The heavier the rain the previous afternoon, the more clouds on the mountain the next morning, and the more magical and floating. Therefore, locals and tourists often "watch for rain" the day before and come to the foot of Ba Den mountain early the next morning to hunt for clouds.
The rainy season in Tay Ninh is also the most beautiful cloud hunting season at Ba Den Mountain.
Rising majestically in the middle of the plains, Ba Den Mountain can be seen from almost anywhere in Tay Ninh. Among them, some of the most popular places to see the clouds covering the mountain top are the back road of Duong Minh Chau district, Hoa Thanh district, Dau Tieng lake, or the cafes at the foot of the mountain.
From 5am to 8am is the easiest time to hunt for lens clouds (cloud hats). Lens clouds with the shape of a white cloud hat floating upside down on the mountain top is a rare cloud phenomenon in the world , but is a "specialty" that is quite easy to find at Ba Mountain.
Many people choose to go to the top of the mountain to see the surreal sea of floating clouds. Right from the large square at the foot of the Buddha statue of Tay Bo Da Son, visitors can look out over the plains hidden under the extremely beautiful sea of clouds.
Clouds highlight the tallest bronze Buddha statue in Asia, located on a beautiful mountain top, no different from a fairyland.
The world's largest sandstone Maitreya statue hidden in the floating clouds makes the mountain top even more sacred and people's hearts peaceful.
In particular, at Ba Den Mountain, cloud hunting at night is a rare specialty found nowhere else. When thousands of lights are lit on the mountain top, clouds cling to the mountain slopes and surround the square at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son and the statue of Bodhisattva Maitreya, creating an extremely magical space.

In particular, the grand ceremony to offer lanterns to celebrate Vu Lan Festival this year will be held on a very large scale on the evening of Saturday, August 24. This will be the moment for visitors to get lost in a fairyland when the entire lighting system with nearly 5,000 lamps will be lit simultaneously, along with thousands of sparkling lanterns that will be released under the magical space of clouds.
Coming to Ba Den Mountain in the 7th lunar month this year, visitors will also be immersed in the sacred atmosphere of Vu Lan season with Buddhist art programs taking place continuously on weekends; national peace and prosperity prayer ceremony, tea meditation ceremony, flower pinning ceremony and listening to monks talk about filial piety held on August 24-25.
Deserving of its title as “the number one mountain in heaven”, Ba Den Mountain is constantly covered in clouds these days and is becoming a hot destination attracting a large number of tourists, only about 100km from Ho Chi Minh City.
