
The Department of Agriculture and Environment stated that during the holiday from April 30 to May 4 , officials, civil servants, public employees and workers have a long break, which is also the time when illegal mineral miners often take advantage of to operate in order to avoid detection, inspection and handling by authorities at all levels.
To prevent, inspect and strictly handle illegal exploitation of minerals (sand, river gravel, hill soil, clay, beach soil, sand, stone...), the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the Provincial Police to organize prevention, detection, suppression and combat against crimes and violations of the law in the field of minerals according to the functions and tasks of the sector.
The provincial police coordinate with other sectors in handling illegal mineral exploitation; arrange forces to participate in clearing and handling hotspots of illegal mineral exploitation activities in the province when directed by the provincial People's Committee or proposed by the district People's Committee.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to step up propaganda and mobilize organizations and people to actively participate in detecting and preventing illegal mineral exploitation. Establish a standing force, set up a hotline, assign leaders and specialized staff in charge, ensure 24/7 communication, promptly handle or coordinate the handling of illegal mineral exploitation activities in the area.
The District People's Committee shall organize forces to clear and prevent illegal mining activities immediately after detecting or receiving reports. Promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee for direction in handling cases beyond the authority to resolve or unable to prevent illegal mining activities...
