From October 10, on each North-South train, the railway industry has arranged a separate compartment to transport relief goods free of charge.

The reception of goods is organized at the main stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... All relief goods will be transported free of charge to Giap Bat station and Hanoi station for timely distribution to the northern localities to help speed up the reconstruction process after the storm.

Ms. Ngo Thi Thuyet, Head of Hue City Railway Station, said: “This is a meaningful policy, demonstrating the industry’s responsibility in joining hands with the community to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. After receiving relief goods, we will have a plan to prioritize trains so that goods can reach the damaged areas as soon as possible.”

In Hue City, recently, the zero-dong buses have promptly “fulfilled” their mission, bringing the love and sharing of Hue people to the people of the North. However, with the large volume of goods and long transport distances in complex weather conditions, the railway is becoming the optimal solution, helping the relief work and overcoming the consequences of the storm to be safer, more effective and more sustainable.

Disaster relief goods were transported to the North overnight by the "Zero-Dong Car" Volunteer Team.

“With the advantage of cargo volume and stable routes of the railway industry, relief goods will soon reach more people in the North. After arriving at the Northern train stations, our volunteer team in each locality is always ready to support the transit of goods so that relief goods can reach people in flood-hit areas as quickly as possible,” shared Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Hoang, Team Leader of the “Zero-Dong Car” volunteer team.
