On the afternoon of October 22, according to information from Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, in order to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer - the most common cancer in women, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital will launch a free breast cancer screening program for 500 women in the city.
According to specialists, detecting breast cancer at an early stage increases the chance of successful treatment by over 90%. However, in Vietnam, most patients come to the hospital when the disease is already in a late stage, reducing the chance of cure.
Therefore, this free screening program is considered a valuable opportunity for women to check their health, detect abnormalities promptly and receive in-depth consultation from a team of experienced doctors and nurses at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital.
Participants include women aged 40 and over , or aged 35 if their mother or sister has breast cancer .
This free medical examination program is organized in two phases :
Phase 1 : The hospital accepts registration from now until November 6 and organizes medical examinations on Sunday morning, November 9.
Phase 2: The hospital accepts registration from now until November 13, examination on Sunday morning, November 16.
Examination location at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, Branch 2 (No. 12, Street 400, Tang Nhon Phu Ward). People can register via hotline 1900 633 465 for detailed instructions.
The hospital encourages women at risk to proactively get regular screenings, because "early detection - cure" is the "key" to defeating breast cancer.
