Hue Department of Education lets students stay home from school to avoid storm No. 12

On October 22, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City issued a document announcing that students would be off school to avoid the effects of storm No. 12.

Specifically, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City requested that schools and educational institutions in the entire city of Hue allow students to take a day off from the afternoon of October 22.

In addition, schools and educational institutions need to proactively monitor closely information on warnings, forecasts, and developments of storm No. 12, and the situation of rain and floods on mass media (Hue-S, the City Hydrometeorological Station, the Department's website, local authorities, Zalo groups...); promptly direct and deploy response work with the "4 on-site" motto according to assigned tasks and authority, not to be passive or surprised to ensure absolute safety for students, teachers and schools.

In addition, units quickly review, inspect and consolidate school facilities, especially at schools in remote areas, where there is a high risk of landslides or flooding; move assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, and records to safe places to minimize damage, loss, and loss; maintain forces, means, and assign leaders and self-defense forces of agencies to be on duty at units and schools to proactively handle situations that occur during storms and floods; promptly report unusual situations that occur at units and schools to the Department of Education and Training (through the Department Office) and superior agencies according to management hierarchy...

It is forecasted that due to the influence of storm circulation No. 12 and cold air combined with East wind disturbances, from October 22 to 24, there will be heavy to very heavy rain in the city; total rainfall is generally from 250 - 500mm, in some places over 600mm. On the same morning, floods on the Huong River and Bo River exceeded alert level 1. Warning: From October 23 to 28, there is a possibility that the flood peak on the Bo River at Phu Oc station is 0.3 - 0.5m higher than alert level 3; the Huong River at Kim Long is 0.2 - 0.3m higher than alert level 3; there is a high risk of floods and inundation in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas.
