On December 19, the General Department of Taxation held an online conference to summarize tax work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025. Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang attended and directed the conference. At the Phu Yen bridge, the leadership of the Provincial Tax Department and representatives of affiliated tax departments and branches attended.
According to the report at the conference, the total state budget revenue in 2024 managed by the tax authority is estimated to reach more than 1.73 million billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 16.5% (equivalent to exceeding 245,588 billion VND), up 13.7% compared to the implementation in 2023. Nationwide, 19/20 regions, revenue items, and tax types exceeded the estimate; 60/63 localities exceeded the revenue estimate in 2024.
To achieve the above results, tax authorities at all levels have effectively implemented tax management functions, focusing on disseminating new tax policies, accelerating the progress and quality of inspections and checks, preventing budget losses, strictly controlling value-added tax refunds, and enhancing debt collection. At the same time, focusing on reforming administrative procedures, perfecting institutions, tax laws and policies, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses to develop production and business, contributing to increasing budget revenue.
In 2025, the Tax sector will focus resources on drastically and synchronously implementing solutions for revenue management, preventing budget losses, recovering tax debts, striving to complete the task of collecting the state budget in 2025 assigned by the National Assembly of nearly 1.72 million billion VND and 63/63 localities will complete the task of collecting budget in the area.

The Minister of Finance suggested that in the coming time, the General Department of Taxation should promptly advise the Ministry of Finance and the Government in directing and managing the budget. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to evaluating and striving to complete the targets and tasks of the entire period of 2021-2025; review and advise the Ministry of Finance to develop a plan for the period of 2026-2030.
On this occasion, the General Department of Taxation announced the Electronic Information Portal for households and individuals doing business to register, declare, and pay taxes on e-commerce and digital business. This information portal is upgraded from the Electronic Tax Portal for individuals (https://canhan.gdt.gov.vn) - ICanhan with functions on tax registration, tax declaration and tax payment designed to be simple, convenient, and easy to use. The official information portal supports taxpayers in fulfilling their tax obligations from December 19, 2024.
