On June 22, the "Miss Pear" contest will take place at the Pear Picking Festival in Nam Pung commune.

Accordingly, the festival starts at 8:30 a.m. on June 22 at Kin Chu Phin 2 village, Nam Pung commune.

At the opening ceremony of the festival, delegates, residents and visitors will enjoy attractive art performances by art troupes from Muong Hum, Trung Leng Ho, Sang Ma Sao, Den Thang and Nam Pung communes.

Nam Pung commune has about 50 hectares of Tai nung pears ready for harvest.

The festival includes activities such as: from 9am to 10am, pear picking competition and "pear beauty pageant" take place to select the best pear picking teams and the biggest, most delicious pear baskets in the pear garden.

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., delegates, people, and tourists can participate in activities: visiting booths displaying OCOP products, Tai Nung pears, and local agricultural products; experiencing pear harvesting at pear gardens of households in Kin Chu Phin 2 village.

In addition, visitors can also enjoy culinary dishes with bold flavors of the Bat Xat highlands at the festival.

Tai Nung pear products from Nam Pung commune have been recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards.

Bat Xat district currently has nearly 300 hectares of Tai Nung pears, concentrated in the communes of Nam Pung, Y Ty, Pa Cheo, A Lu, and Den Sang. Of which, Nam Pung is the largest concentrated Tai Nung pear growing area in Bat Xat district, with 176 hectares. Currently, Nam Pung commune has about 50 hectares of Tai Nung pears that have been harvested. Tai Nung pear products from Nam Pung commune have been recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards.

Visitors will be able to participate in many exciting activities at the Tai nung pear harvest experience festival in Nam Pung commune in 2024.

The organization of the Tai Nung Pear Harvest Experience Festival in Nam Pung Commune aims to promote and introduce Tai Nung pear products that meet OCOP standards to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to helping people consume the products; attracting tourists to participate in experiencing agricultural activities; diversifying tourism products to meet the increasing demands of tourists. Thereby, promoting the tourism image of Bat Xat district to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists; attracting organizations, businesses and individuals to invest and participate in service and tourism business activities in the district.
