Admissions Day for the first grade in District 10

For the first time, the first-level enrollment festival took place in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, the festival had the participation of introductions and consultations from public and non-public schools from kindergarten to high school.

On the morning of May 25, the People's Committee of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City organized a new school year admissions festival with the participation of more than 1,500 parents and students of all levels.

In addition to the exhibition of 50 years of achievements ofthe education and training sector in District 10, and the awarding of excellent students at all levels in the 2024-2025 school year; the highlight of the festival is the introduction and consultation of public and non-public educational institutions on primary school enrollment.

Each school and center has a booth to display the activities, educational programs, and educational achievements of their unit. At the same time, managers, teachers, and staff of the units also meet, discuss, and directly advise parents and students on choosing schools and types of classes.

"These are products made by students at my school. Try them out" - the teacher at To Hien Thanh Primary School invited when she saw little Thien Bao standing there, fascinated by the models.

The teacher continued to introduce: "This is a car that runs on balloons. This is an electric car that runs on batteries. These are all products that students made after studying STEM. If you come to my school, you will be able to make toys like this by 4th grade."

Ms. Phuong Thanh, mother of baby Thien Bao, said: "My baby will enter first grade this year, so I want to take him to visit and learn about primary schools. There are many things about this festival that surprise me. First is the participation of public schools.

In all the festivals I've attended, I've only seen private schools and international schools introducing themselves. Today's festival has public schools, and the schools' booths are also very attractive. Compared to 5 years ago when my oldest child was in elementary school, schools are now developing quite quickly and evenly."

Meanwhile, Mr. Phung Huy, a parent whose child is about to enter 6th grade, commented: "I have researched 4 junior high schools near my house and found that public schools are very progressive now. Almost every school has an enhanced 6th grade English class. Some schools even have an integrated 6th grade English class. Not to mention that all schools have boarding schools, air-conditioned nap rooms... The educational program does not stop at teaching culture but also has experiential programs and skills training."

Not only that, many parents whose children have not yet entered the first grade also participated in the festival. Mr. Ho Chau Xuan Truong said: "My child has just finished grade 4 this year. I took my child to the festival to find out information and understand the requirements for grade 6 admission of junior high schools to prepare for my daughter next year" - Mr. Truong shared.

Provide a comprehensive educational picture

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first-grade enrollment festival, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 10, informed: "District 10 has a diverse network of schools, spread throughout all areas, ensuring study places for all children of people living and working in the area.

Currently, District 10 has 4 schools from kindergarten to high school implementing high-quality, advanced and internationally integrated models; 100% of public schools meet educational quality accreditation standards...".

It is known that this year, the enrollment process for primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City is completely online. In addition, the enrollment progress is also very urgent (expected to be completed in June, 1 month earlier than last year). Not to mention the implementation process also has many new points.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung said: "The educational system of District 10 is quite large with many schools and diverse educational services, serving well the needs of developing learners' qualities and abilities. However, information reaching the people is still limited.

Therefore, in order to ensure complete and official information about the enrollment work at the beginning of the school year, the People's Committee of District 10 organized this festival to provide an overall picture of the education system in the area. The festival will help parents and students make decisions to choose the most suitable and favorable learning environment.
