Nghe An launches Workers' Month 2025

On the morning of April 27, at the Provincial Labor Culture House, the Provincial Labor Federation held the launching ceremony of Workers' Month 2025.

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation.

Also attending were representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committees, the Provincial People's Committee; relevant departments, branches, sectors, units and more than 1,000 typical workers and laborers in the province.

Since 2012, the Central Party Secretariat has decided to make May every year the Workers' Month. In Nghe An, promoting the tradition of "taking the lead" of the Truong Thi - Ben Thuy workers' movement, Workers' Month has become a major festival, affirming the strong connection between workers and the Trade Union, Party committees, authorities and enterprises. The emulation movement among Nghe An workers in recent times has spread strongly, contributing significantly to the socio -economic development of the province.

Taking place in the context that the entire political system is urgently focusing on implementing the revolution of streamlining and streamlining the apparatus; on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), this year's Workers' Month is even more special and meaningful.

With the theme "Vietnamese workers take the lead in entering a new era", Workers' Month 2025 continues to affirm the historical role and great contributions of the working class in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, emphasizing the responsibility and spirit of innovation and creativity of the working class in the new era of national development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation introduced outstanding activities that will take place in Workers' Month 2025. Typical examples include: The program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era" to promote and mobilize union members and workers to study and improve their skills and innovate industrial style; "Creative Labor Festival" with competitions to propose ideas and technical innovation initiatives; the forum "Party with workers - Workers with the Party" and "May Dialogue" to listen to and solve practical problems of workers; the program "Thank workers" with many practical gratitude activities.

The Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor called on all union members, workers, laborers and trade unions at all levels in the province to continue to proactively advise the Party Committee, closely coordinate with the government and enterprises, promote a sense of responsibility, actively respond and effectively implement programs and activities of the Workers' Month in 2025, in accordance with the actual conditions of the locality and unit.

At the ceremony, in response to the housing support program for the poor in Nghe An province, the Provincial Labor Federation supported the construction of 27 "Union Shelters", each worth 50 million VND, with a total cost of 1.35 billion VND. At the same time, 107 gifts worth 127 million VND were also given to union members and workers in difficult circumstances or who had work-related accidents.

Within the framework of the program, more than 1,000 union members and workers participated in many meaningful activities such as collective folk dance performances to celebrate major holidays; communication to improve knowledge and skills on occupational safety and hygiene, nutrition, and health care. In particular, more than 400 workers received health check-ups, medical consultations, and free medicine right at the event.

Also in the morning of the same day, the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to workers who had occupational accidents in Vinh city. This is an annual activity demonstrating the humane tradition and deep concern of the trade union organization for union members and workers.
