Nghe An: Mong women in My Ly commune are liberated

On May 9, Tri Le Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) coordinated with My Ly 1 Primary Boarding School and My Ly Commune Women's Union to organize the opening ceremony of an illiteracy eradication class for women in Pieng Vai village, My Ly commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

The class consists of 11 students who are Mong ethnic women from Pieng Vai village. According to the program, the course lasts 1 year and is taught directly by officers from My Ly Border Guard Station and the school. The curriculum includes 2 subjects: Math and Vietnamese.

Receiving gifts of books and school supplies from the border guards, women's cadres and the school, the students could not hide their emotion and expressed their determination to study diligently and hard.

The class was opened to help people, especially Mong women in Pieng Vai village, learn to read, write and calculate, contributing to improving knowledge, promoting economic development, and reducing poverty in the border area.

According to the class organization plan, in order not to affect the production and daily life of the people, the class is organized in the evenings from Monday to Friday every week. At the end of the course, the Organizing Committee will evaluate the results and issue certificates to the students.

Hopefully, when they know how to read and write, Mong ethnic women of Pieng Vai village will have their awareness raised, their desire to learn awakened; they will be confident to become their own masters, and their lives will progress day by day.
