Art is 'lit' from the heart of a physician

In the hospital - where every second is a battle with illness, there are still very different moments: gentle and full of humanity. The hands holding scalpels, needles... now cherish cameras, recording the eyes, smiles, and moments of life. They call it "spiritual medicine" - where art is lit from the heart of the doctor.

Amidst the urgent atmosphere of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, the photography movement has quietly become a beautiful cultural feature. Over the past 10 years, from the initial idea of the Board of Directors, the people in white coats have found a way to share emotions through pictures.

“The medical environment is very special - stressful and urgent, but it is also here that we want each medical staff to find joy and creativity to capture beautiful images of the profession - of themselves” - Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital said.

From small training sessions, doctors and nurses learn how to capture light, composition and most importantly, emotion. Each photo not only bears the mark of technique, but also the breath of the profession, the love for the sick.

Patient Pham Van Nhan (Tich Luong ward), treated at the Endocrinology Department, emotionally shared: I accidentally saw the photos of the doctors in the department I was treated at. The photos are very beautiful, real, full of humanity. I feel more comforted and secure when I am here.

Since 2015, photo exhibitions called “Hope” have been held and maintained at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital until now. The beauty of professional and friendly medical staff has become a cultural highlight of the Hospital. Not only an art, photography has also become a connecting thread between professionals and those served.

“The photos capturing the moments between medical staff and patients make us proud and love our jobs more,” said Dr. Luc Le Long, Secretary of the Youth Union of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital.

Each picture hanging in the hallway is not simply a decoration but a spiritual support, helping both doctors and patients feel warmer. From those simple lenses, the light of kindness is spread, so that every day when coming to the hospital, everyone feels more peaceful.

Sometimes, art is also a “miracle” - healing invisible wounds, helping people love their jobs and life more. And from the lenses of that white blouse, Thai Nguyen has another light - the light of kindness and faith.
